test drive - S2000 ... WOW
I test drove a 2002 S2000 that was stock with a Comptech CF intake and had 22k miles. I was flat out blown away. The car is wicked. I have driven lots of cars and a few on the track. I have to say that anyone that says an S2k is slow doesn't understand the car and/or what it's about. If I had driven my WRX to the dealer and they wouldn't have been silly about the price, I would have traded then and there.
The dealer said he had to drive it off the lot per their rules and he killed it 3 times on the way to a parking lot 3 blocks away. I drove it and asked if I could 'get on it' and he said sure. The intake opens up the sound a lot, but the car was timid and smooth off VTEC, and then sounded like it gained open throttle bodies on VTEC. Pulled like mad to redline, shifts so precise... Downshift to 2nd @50mph and romp on it. I would have given anything to take it on a track. Suby's rock, and the STi is a wicked car in a different way, but with a good driver my vote would go to a bone stock S2K.
The only reason I am not driving an S2000 is because I don't have the cash right now. If there were any way I could trade my '01 GM6 for a 2002 or earlier one, I would in an instant. Silver please.

My cousin drives a s2k along with my friend.
It's a great car in stock form, and it gots the bling bling appeal.
Modding it seems useless unless you dish out big bucks for forced induction,
handling is cool but i heard on s2ki that stock sti still out performs it.
Not my type of ride really, but i think its fun to zip around town with.
