The wiring is a USDM 02-03 WRX Harness merged into the JDM 04 STi Engine Harness (the one with AVCS) and merged with the 98 RS dash harness using the JDM ECU. And the gauge cluster harness was modified for a 05 STi gauge cluster.
As for the controller I got the deluxe version.

once you get this going.... i'd like to check out the controller functions and how it integrates with the factory cluster.
that's a pretty intense wiring setup hehehe
good luck on the rest of your journey

Gonna try and get everything done before the tune at the end of the month!
Crunch time!
Wiring for the most part is done, just a few sensors, DCCD controller, and gauges to hook up.
6-speed went in last weekend, I'm missing a few bolts for the drive shaft but in all it went in pretty easy.
I have to pick up some oil/fluids and misc parts from the auto store then I'm gonna "attempt" to drop the motor in tonight... we'll see how it goes.

I got the engine off the stand and installed the Flywheel and clutch assembly.
Got the engine on the lift and attempted to drop it in the car.
FAIL
After a few hours of positioning and struggling I noticed there were extra dowel pins in matching holes on both the engine and trans.
I tried to pry one set out with pliers but they were stuck tight and I had little room to work with.
Since it was getting late we decided to lift the motor out and call it a night.
Anyone have tips on how to remove these stubborn dowel pins?

Hammered the extra dowel alignment pins out.
Third attempt... Car: 3 Deraj_53: 0
No success
Gonna have to remove a bunch of stuff from the motor, I was trying to drop it in all together exhaust + turbo but there isn't enough clearance like with the NA block.
The 6 speed is also pretty tight in there and is hard to raise high enough to get the right angle before hitting the floorpan. I think I might have to lower the front subframe some to give the motor enough clearance for the engine mount bolts on the bottom to clear the from part of the subframe.
Anyone have a engine leveler I could borrow?

wait... why'd you remove the pins? if it's a version 8 engine and trans they should be able to join with no problems.
also, engine (with turbo) + trans should be able to go in one piece but you'll need higher jack stands since you'll may need to position the engine/trans combo tail pipe pointing at 5 o'clock and the engine towards 10 or 11.
another set of hands would be great for you. to bad you didn't say you needed help. i was available all week. this week back to work

Yep another set of hands would have helped
I had my dad helping but we both were operating on a trial/error basis.
I had to remove one set of pins from the transmission, there was already pins on the motor side in the same alignment holes.
When I was trying to put the motor in, the twinscroll exhaust heat shield on the header was hitting the front radiator supports on the bottom. In addition the turbo support bracket was hitting the bellhousing on the transmission making it difficult to position and mate the two in the car. Took all those parts off dropped the motor in and re-installed them... problem solved.
The transmission is from a JDM 2003 STi and the motor is from a 2004. It wasn't a matched pair.
Can't start the car up just yet
I need a front O2 sensor the one I got the connector was torn off.
Hopefully I'll get the rest of the stuff hooked up tomorrow as well as work on getting the dash back in.
Checklist of thing left to finish:
install dash
Buy O2 sensor
Buy new tires
finish wiring DCCD controller
Bleed Brakes
Bleed Clutch
Mod radiator to fit
mod or buy new fans
bolt driveshaft in
install front axles
torque down suspension bolts
Install gauges
