You can, but its leaking all over, I think most of the seals need replacing. But it's been running strong since the headgaskets were replaced by Davin at R&D back in 2005.

Swap Update: Thanks John for the engine hoist and stand. I'll probably get the old motor out tomorrow and the new one on the stand to do some pre drop-in work on it.
I found the Spiider DCCD controller you were talking about.

Pretty good price too, I ended up buying one. I guess we'll see how good it is once its wired up.

Wiring is done though... Yay.
I need to source/order a few things.
Some stuff off the top of my head:
axle seals on hub's/transmission
a few assorted nuts and bolts
some OEM hoses/pipes for the PCV system
fuel hoses
one step colder spark plugs
a wrx MAF/intake
Gonna drop in the walbro fuel pump today, hope it fits.
I'm also trying to get my old AC compressor on the new motor as well, I'm gonna see if the old alternator/AC bracket from my old motor fits on the new one.

Update:Aug. 15 2009
Its been a while since I wrenched on my swap. Been busy playing another MMO, Darkfall Online and sleeping...
I got the walbro fuel pump in over the past week and snapped a few more pics.
Old one out!
Its a bit greasy
The wiring is going back in tomorrow
Still waiting for the twinscroll downpipe to arrive
Moar goodies

First major swap bump, was getting ready to drop in the trans when I noticed I was sent the wrong axles >_<
Female to female? WTF
Might be a long shot but does anyone have axles (male to trans) that I could test fit?
Or if you know which one I can use that would be helpful.
