Too much stuff mounted in the car. Just too much mounting and unmounting for me. I agree those look cooler tho, but I will stick with a simple tripod and a couple straps anyday. Make sure whatever you do you get a nice mounting ball or head for the camera.

Oh yeah turning it on and off. I messed up one run since I was reaching back to try and turn it on and turned it off. Flip the screen around if you can so you can atleast see if its recording. With the tripod I can reach it pretty well. And with a tripod you can adjust more settings it seems, heights and angles and such. I can adjust for a nice gauge shot, windshield, pretty much anything.

Ill take a pic in the morning, sorry got lazy yesterday...

WOW. That was you? Amazing. Back when this was circling the net, it popped up on a list of road racers in the Bay Area (CA) I belonged to and people were trying to figure out what car it was. I said Subaru Legacy. Wow. I win. Neat. I remember the vid, and the "F@%#" once you landed on your roof. Pretty amazing vid.

HAMA mount

In regards to that video I posted; that MINI was pretty quick. It was a MINI Madness MINI with 260 hp and some suspension mods. He was about 3-5 seconds slower than me.
I have this exact mount, bought it from i/o port. I find it VERY funny that SCCA won't allow this for autox as it and my friend's before it (got mine in '03) have lived on various windows of various cars for YEARS on race tracks (road race) thru NASA and Speedtrial events. That's silly. It even comes with a safety strap to hook thru your LATCH or other systems. Since I moved to the Big Island and prolly won't get on a track again, I would sell it. Just sitting here. Works GREAT and has delivered rock solid video on every car I have used it on. The mount Patrick has is also excellent and held a Sony MiniDV pro 3CCD camera on the rollbar of a MR2 Spyder for about 5k on track miles without a single issue.
