Dave,
I took a look, but didn't take a mental note of how it was setup. Pictures when you get time. I have a few tripods I can try and a good Sony Digital Video Camera.

Cool I will throw it in after Im done being a nerd and shoot up some pics. Just watch the heighth. Im gonna try my cheaper tripod next time, although its not as nice its lower. Ive got a little sony as well, their anti-shake works well...

all you need is a bandsaw, drill press, and a stick welder and walla it is possible. doesn't seen to complicated.

He said he found all materials at Home Depot I will be going there this weekend to get the stuff and attempt to make one should be no problem will post or try to post some pictures after I get it done.

I think I will do this but I feel that the horizontal bar going across the back is redundant. If you can get a good clamping load and a decent footprint, I think you can just have the center mounting point. It kinda depends on the rigidity of the rear deck though. I'll try this this weekend.

I guess the only down side is that you have to get out of the car to turn it on/off or have someone turn it on for you. I lost my remote for my camera so I am SOL.
