Loss of power @ 5000rpm's

I have an 02 wrx wagon, no mods. I have noticed lately that right at 5000rpm's i fell a drop in power. Maybe even a full loss of boost. IT doesn't get any better in the rest of the rpm range. Just curious of the cause, sorry if this has been discussed before.

Could be a boost leak somewhere or a leak in the intercooler system somewhere. Do you have a boost gauge?

Your boost solenoid may be going out as well. I had similar symptoms when mine failed.

But as everyone else said, a boost gauge will make your life easier. Or you could lfind a friend that has Delta Dash and do some data logging to see exactly what is going on.
