fuel or boost cut without CEL?
so the car started having a problem holding boost seemingly out of nowhere. i was driving the car hard one night for a couple (2) freeway pulls. after a few minutes of normal driving, the car has trouble making and holding boost. no CEL
in 2nd and 3rd gears the car will go to 0.5 bar with the throttle all the way open then it will stop making power. smells like fuel so i figure it is a boost cut. btw, no CEL
in 3rd, 4th, and 5th gears at partial throttle (60-90 mph) the car will not hold any positive manifold pressure. this is extremely annoying especially on any medium inclines. the boost gauge will fluctuate around 0 bar and the fuel smell will come up again. again, no CEL
engine mods:
vf39
sti pink 565cc
walbro pump
ngk bkr7e plugs
cobb AP w/ protune
stock intake w/ perrin panel filter
helix catless TBE
perrin UP
perrin turbo inlet
i have been running this setup for more than 2 years without ever having an issue like this.
actions taken:
-i did have an exhaust leak, but had that welded and the problem persists
-i checked the intake box but it is snug and tight
-i checked the vacuum lines and didn't see anything out of the ordinary but i will inspect them again
-i am going to check the fuel pump filter as it hasn't been changed since i installed the walbro 2 years ago.
anyone else experience anything similar? any theories or ideas are appreciated. thanks

yea i was thinkin that too but haven't got a chance to look at it yet. also, when i turn the car on the fuel pump will whine for about half a minute and then go silent (rear seats removed for better sound). i've had a walbro before and they're noticeable louder than the stock unit. im thinking the pump itself might have gone bad...
