Can Fuel Cut lead to leaking fuel or oil?
Can Fuel Cut lead to leaking fuel or oil?
I just got my STi EcuTeked along with an APS 3" Turboback install and a 255 walbro fuel pump. In colder weather for the last couple of days when accelerating hard in 5th or 6th gear the car's boost gets interrupted and it feels like i'm momentarily hitting a wall...abrupt hesitation like i've hit the rev limiter except i still have a way to go before redline. Right after this happens the CEL light comes on along with the Cruise light blinking...it goes away after i shut the engine off for awhile and start it back up. I am thinking it is fuel cut and this situation can be resolved by pulling the timing but when i pulled into the garage tonite i noticed some black spots directly under where the engine bay is supposed to be...it looks like oil but smells like fuel...any guesses to what the cause of this leak is? Am i running lean? Leaky gasket? Can fuel cut cause a leak somewhere in the engine bay or is this just an improper install of the turboback or fuel pump?
thanks, Ghost

Fuel cut is very abrupt, and althought is rare to have any type of leaks from encountering it, I think something that strong can loosen any of the turbo oil lines, specially the return, which is hold only by a pretty weak hose clamp. That would be my first check.
