question about intake

Alright, so here it is.. my 04 STi

I've had this intake for almost a year now. If I set the car on cruise control for awhile, the CC shuts off and i get an engine check light flashing for a awhile or even a few days. My friend told me because the engine is running lean, and that's also what Carlsen Subaru said when i brought it in. So i figured, the hell with it, i'm kinda lazy to take it out so i just left it in. The other day i was on 280 heading towards SF and i stepped on it.. I hit around 120mph then the car just acted as if it hit a limiter (154mph max on STi?) and and reduced speed/rev automatically.. freaked the sh*t out of me.. so I'm guessing it has another thing to do with the intake again since i'm assuming at higher speeds more air goes through the intake, so the engine must have experienced something it doesn't like.

So here it is, I have no clue what's wrong with the car, should i just take the intake out?

thanks

OEM airbox for t3h win. Throw a K&N filter in if you want to feel like your doing something to improve things.

+1 on the k&n, its the only thing you need for your intake until you are near 400whp.
