Quick Question: CEL + Flashing Cruise Control = what?
I've never had a CEL in all the 40k of my STi, today I got my first. I started my car after parking at a store to get something and my cruise control light start flashing (I thought I hit it by accident), but as I tried to turn it off the CEL came on.
Car works flawlessly through all gears, brakes and cooling are fine. I NEVER use my cruise control... I don't think I've ever even turned it on to use it before in this car. I never drive long distances so it's worthless for me, regardless I dont mind keeping my foot planted for 10 hours
Anyone know what the CEL might be? I dont have an AP (got stolen) and no scanner. Anyone around tomorrow that can do a reading for me? I want to make sure it's not something screwed up.
'Thanks -D

Have you had a proper compression and leakdown test done on yours?
I'd recommend taking it in asap and having them not only check the cel code, but also do the compression and leakdown test too.
There is too wide of a range of problems that cause the cel + flashing cruise light to guess via the interwebs.

Daniel, if I were about an hour and a half closer to you, I'd drop by with my scanner to read the code for you. Unfortunately, two hours is a bit far to drive when you have so many other (closer) offers to help.

I just took the car for a spin around the block and warmed it up to see how it runs... It hesitates pretty badly at low RPMs then the turbo kicks in and knocks my *** back into my seat. Ive had the same tune since 11k miles and its been so smooth and great. I have a feeling this has to do with my f'ing batter coming disconnected every time I corner hard (just for a split second). My battery tie down broke, I need a new one but have been busy.
Ryan, you're closest to me, can SCS check the code for me for free? Or do they charge for that kind of thing? I'd rather not drive far with the car like this.
the CEL is solid and not blinking, its the cruise control thats blinking. Dammit!
