Just as an FYI, mine started misfiring right before I found out that my ring lands were cracked. Not that yours is the same thing, but it wouldn't hurt to have it checked.

Misfires can be caused by anything from bad gas to faulty plugs to major problems. Knowing that you have an 06/07 STI it would make sense to investigate further instead of just brushing it off as being fine for now.

Same thing happened to my car. Is the car limping or does it run fine?

I'm going to bet coil pack... if they are old and have never been replaced.
A crusty old connector could get finished off by being jostled during an plug change.

Good news, Coil packs only cost ~$50

P0304 on a recent local legacy gt was because of a cracked ringland. He would probably recommend you get a compression test to prevent any further damage to the engine just in case. It could also just be spark plugs or ignition coils.

Mine was misfiring after i put in some of those fancy pulstar plugs.. when i took it to a shop...one of the plugs was not a pulstar plug. either my friend forgot to change one..or one the first shops I went to changed one plug out to another plug. in the end I went with OEM plugs.

hahah, yeah, I used to be way into it, knew every part number by heart pretty much when I had my RS... then a few years into i just lost it. Now I just drive my car.

All I have is exhaust, Cobb APv2, + Tune from GST

That's not including any suspension mods... Or any other mods of that matter. With this power I'm already going way too fast, I don't need a car that gets me in more trouble and eats more gas so I'm at a good point. I wouldn't mind adding like 50 more HP but that comes later.

I plan on it, good advice.

I'm willing to bet its one of the coils too... Same thing happened in my RS only it didn't trigger a CEL light and it would just hesitate like CRAZY until the coil plug actually came shooting off the car!!! With my STi it's totally different because of the power, transmission, and of course how the turbo works.. My RS could barely move but my STi will at least get me out of a bad situation if I needed it to.

I think it misfired when I turned the car on because thats when I got the CEL, right away. Looks like 2 misfires during the session and this has never happened before, EVER. I just got the spark plugs replaced so I suspect something happened.

Did you get oem plugs?

Could be the ringlands which would be bad. I hope it's not, but I remember hearing once that sti's have a problem with their ringlands. May have been about older models though.

Nope you are right. 06-10 STI's have problems with them, with the 07's being the worst of the bunch.

PS: If I end up moving to Germany I'm importing my car with me and getting an EVO for the wife. We will rule the autobahn (well, in the speedlimitless areas at least).
