on the 04 boost gage it reads 1.5 max what is this measurement?

on the 04 boost gage it reads 1.5 max what is this measurement?
When I was test driving the 04 wrx we are going to buy I noticed that the boost gage goes up to 1.5, what is this, I read it in a mag. on time but now I cant find it. any way what is this measurement and how do you convert this into psi. As much info on this as you can please
