I have become another success story in getting my clutch replaced. Livermore Subaru replicated the Clutch shudder and now have the parts on order. When they come in, I'm gonna ask to make sure the parts they ordered are the right ones.

I'm about to drop mine off to my local Subie dealership to get looked at for the shudder. I was wondering, for those of you who got the repair/replacement of clutch approved: how long did it take to get the car back from when you dropped off the car to get it tested for the shudder, to when you picked it up after it had been fully repaired/replaced? Any info on this would be greatly appreciated!

i went over to the faulner dealership, in pa and i went in (after works, the car started to do it), told the head guy there, he seemed like ooh well give me you name number, i willoprder the parts, he gave me asheet to read, a memo put out to the dealerships about it, and he said when the parts come in he will call, it will take about 4 hrs, completly covereed, with that a kid workin there came over and told he just got done doing one.
also in the mail igot something about spt parts for the sti, it had new clutches in there, and the said the wold shudder if you put them on, and did not engae the clutch all the way.

Voodoo, I just had my clutch and flywheel replaced 2 days ago and I am also experiencing your steady shudder. What ticks me off is that the old shudder went away when the car warmed up, so it was mainly a problem for 10 minutes or so. Now, it just gets screwed up all the time. It's much worse since I live in SF and the hills require a lot of clutch slip.
Anyway, if you or anybody else has any helpful suggestions on what this is or how to fix it, i'd really appreciate it.

Hi -
I just got my clutch de-shuddered under warranty, by Carlsen Subaru in Redwood City, CA. So far I've put in all of six miles on the new clutch, but the immediate impressions are:
- the shudder is gone
- the new clutch engages much sooner
Carlsen could have done a better job in dealing with their customer (me!). The a**hole on the phone said, and I quote, "just because you read something on the internet doesn't mean there is a real problem." Note I had said nothing about the internet, just that I knew there was a service bulletin. They also insisted I drop the car off the night before so they could test drive it when it was cool in the morning, which was a pain in the a** because I need my car! The whole tone was that they won't believe me that there was a problem until they see it themselves, even if SOA has acknowledged the problem in the first place. Anyway, in the end, the right thing happened.

Actually, asking you to drop it off the night before helps you out. Haven't you noticed that the shudder is much more pronounced in the morning?

I was just denied the shudder warranty. some bs, they told me they noticed the shudder in all the gears and its definetly the flywheel and clutch, BUT its not covered under warranty. some bs about the clutch is only covered for 12 months or some **** like that. I was like what the hell? where in the manual does it say anything about that? he couldnt give me a straight answer. even so wouldnt they have to replace the flywheel cause thats under coverage still? Im seriously pissed. I have 32k on it by the way. im goin down there right now and gonna cause chaos.
