This guy must be really pissed from getting beat by WRX's all day long.

The fact that these cars aren't even in the same class and the STi still beats the almighty '03 cobra is the joke of this whole thread.

my 98 will poop on an sti and any wrx unless you're running low 12's from a stop and kill ones in the 12s from a roll all day. the 03 cobra is fast as ****. i dont get why you guys dont know that. is that youve never been in both cars? is that you have a stereotype against american cars as junk and think they are not fast? so you can beat a c6 vette from a stop with your sti? i doubt it. but guess what an 03 cobra will.....
talk all you want, i'm an idiot because it is an obvious fact that the 03 cobra is faster than the sti. 9/10 times the cobra would win with a person that knows what theyre doing driving.

as for the gto's, they are the exception for ls1's. theyre not even that fast. theyre 4 door sedans heavy *** cars. its a grand prix with a big engine. i hate them personally. im talking about 98-02 LS1 camaros and trans ams. also can beat/tie a stock sti in the 1/4.

i am in no way jealous of a subaru product and could care less if there are ones that run 10's. i had one and thought it was a *** mobile and felt like a loser when i saw ppl wave at me in their wrx. im like wtf, these ppl are liek theyre own little group that think down on american cars. i drove my subaru knowing id get my *** beat by cobras and modded mustangs. it sucked. you think im the one worried? lol.... you guys are the ones who are intimidated.

i havent lost to a subaru and don't intend on it happening. i don't go looking for races but if one tries me i will beat them. i don't need to tell you guys the 03 cobra is faster anymore. i know people that own them and have been in them. there are so many more faster mustangs than any subarus on the road. you guys have blinders on or something. probably be seeing sti's in the $18,000 range by next year so have fun and keep thinking your 4 door tin boxes are fast. it really is that much more fun when you **** on some douche bag blasting fall out boy in their queer wrx with 5'' fart can.
again you won't beat modded cobras 96+ unless the sti itself is modded. thats comparing a 2004 model to something almost ten years older. none of you even have fast cars, get real. yeah i don't own an 03 but i know enough about them. if i drove one against the sti i would kill it. it's on average a half second faster in the quarter and traps 10 + mph. and when ppl race on the street they arent racing a 1/4 mile. they do it till its a kill and time to shut down. sorry but subarus will not stand a chance with one on the street/roll...

i'm done. i really wish it would be closed so i don't have to see more and more stupid comments in defense to something that is true. as if i am making up everything i say.

bring an sti to ct and see if it can beat my 98 or my friend's 03? i'd love to see it. or i'll just beat my friends sti and he will say, "oh i know i can't beat a cobra but my car is pretty quick." he knows what his role is. he has had american cars before and knows their potential is far greater than some 4 cyl. you guys are the ones with heads up your asses.

I'm sure they have a "12-second club" because it's SO common for Cobras to run in the 12s.

There are the "light mods" it took to get a 98 Cobra into the low 12s. What's an STi with equivalent mods going to run?

 

it would probably run the same time for the money spent (not figuring costs of the cars).
that's a different point though because you're paying double the cost of a used cobra than even a used or new sti. it makes more sense to compare the 03 cobra to the sti for price and year being similar. the 03 cobra will blow the sti away when it comes to mod for mod. not even comparable. those are bolt-on parts to run a 12.2 all n/a. that's pretty sick for a full weight 3300 lb. car. he just has exhaust, intake, some suspension work, 31 spline axles and a steep *** gear. nothing too expensive. supercharge a 96-98 cobra and you will see 11's on a stock motor reliably.

I have explained many facts within this thread, it's just a shame you are to stupid to know any of them. Oh and you seem happy that it takes the mustang an extra 100+WHP, STis will dyno 220-260WHP depending on the dyno used, to get down the 1/4 faster than the STi, but only with a good driver.
