Where to buy OEM shocks other than the dealer
Went with megan coilovers
I just found out that my rear shocks are toast, I've only tested one so far and I'll check the rest in the next few minutes. Where can I get 2004 wrx rear shocks? For the price of replacing all 4, am I better off biting the bullet and getting Megan Racing Coilovers? I know they aren't the best but its definitely better than stock. I'm on Mach V lowering springs so I'm guessing thats what blew my shocks but then again, they may have been gone when I purchased the car. Do I risk blowing my shocks again on the lowering springs?
If I decide to get the KYB GR2/Excel G, do I risk blowing it again since I'm on lowering springs?
Went with megan coilovers
Possible Replacement:
Be the test dummy on these since there is little to no info on them racelandus coilovers $499
KYB Excel G Fixed Strut/Shocks $322.31
Cheapest Koni's I've found. Koni Yellow Insert Single Rear $179.56 Single Front $214.40

OEM struts are re-labeled KYB units. Buy the KYB replacement from RockAuto or Napa or Oreilly and you'll save the dealership/Subaru markup.
Coilovers are not a substitute for fixed perch OEM style struts. They WILL NOT LAST the same expected ~70k miles that OEM style struts will. Especially with the crap roads in the bay. Coilovers ARE NOT BETTER THAN OEM. To say otherwise would mean you are ignorant of the purpose of the vehicle and the intended use of it's components.
Coilovers are for motorsport, or more often lately, they are for stance. Daily driving on coils is a waste of time, money, and ***-comfort.

Car Info: Whatever The Lot Provides ;)
Talk to your local shop peeps and see what they're asking from WorldPac. WorldPac's "Street Face" is CarQuest. CQ's main center that's nearest to WorldPac's nearest Hub is right off of E. Trimble in Santa Clara.
