Watch out for CaliSuby
ViVaSuBy. Ring a bell?
After some further investigation........
I've got confirmation that it is the same driver in the picture with the same car.

This is his name mentioned in this thread:

About the youtube video of a driver launching off from the shoulder. Poster of video replied stating his identity, replying to a now deleted post in the video comments.
And then there was the whole drama with him and STIRS a former member here (somehow all related) accused of selling stolen subaru/subaru parts.
As I've gathered, ViVa was scamming before. His account got banned as you can publicly view. Ive also had other resources deal with him (the former VivaSuBy) and said it was also a guy named Luis with same description.
A returning scammer who has made (at least) a secondary screen name on this website forum board. This very well looks like an i<3subie case of shenanigans. That is all. Officials will be contacted and decide on how this situation will proceed from here.

But on a side note Jourdan...... all that information about Luis is already known, some members know his address, others know what car he drives and what he looks like. The address was already attained and given, so no point for me to exploit that part and get myself involved. I, and our team, just gathered enough information for the guy to get the BANHAMMER again.....thats what I do and thats all.
LoL, thanks for the fails who wanted the thread closed. Another twist in the world of Viva/CaliSuby; dumb/dumber.
1) Gets motor without leakdown, instead of doing the leakdown in the original motor as offered by the seller.
2) Engine looks bad, so instead of talking it out like a typical person, he resorts to threats? I teach... and man that sounds like someone who is very low on the educational level. That's not how it works.
3) Cops call him, calm him... and he then threatens again...
4) Xeng makes a working engine, Viva/Cali takes off without without rest of payment.
5) Viva/Cali disappears, even off of facebook.. with his.. phone that doesn't work but can somehow text the seller of the motor with threats?
Post screen shots of the texts, xeng eat him up in small claims.
And if someone really wanted some "justice" ya drop Cali's address, and he can get a taste of his own medicine.

I'm no lawyer, but:
1. OP provided automotive repairs for money..entered into a contract ..w/o being registered with the BAR, which is illegal.
2. The money owed will most likely never be recoverable, legally.
3. CaliSuby could actually contact the BAR, file a complaint, and possibly recover what money he's paid the OP.

Here’s what BAR will do when you file a complaint:
Assign a case number to your complaint and notify you within 10 days that BAR received it
Give you the name of the BAR representative who will review your complaint and contact you.
A BAR supervisor will review your complaint to decide if the shop may have violated the Automotive Repair Act or other law.
The BAR representative will try to resolve the matter between you and the repair shop. Although BAR cannot represent you in court, collect money, or levy fines for you, the BAR representative will contact the owner or manager of the shop, describe your complaint, and attempt to negotiate a resolution.
Both parties will be kept informed.
BAR will ask you and the repair shop to confirm the final resolution, and BAR will notify you when the case is closed.
If it appears that the shop may have violated the Automotive Repair Act, the BAR representative will gather documentation (evidence) to decide whether to advise the repair shop manager or open a formal investigation.
Each year, BAR negotiates millions of dollars in rework, refunds, and adjustments for California consumers. If you feel you have a complaint that should be investigated, please contact us.

Sooo...the BAR sees the OP is a professional tech that does side work at his house.
With no BAR registration.
BAR makes a recommendation, Calisuby takes OP to small claims court.
All the judge has to ask for is the OPs BAR registration, a signed estimate, an invoice, and all other documentation pertaining to the case.
Assuming the OP doesn't have a "legal" registered business, he's ****ed.
Judge can side with CaliSuby and award a judgement against the OP.
It's a ****ty scenario for the OP, but Ive seen it happen a few times to folks trying to provide a homie hook up.
