Warriors thread
Raja Bell said he wants to stay with the Warriors....until his contract is up (which is this season lol). It was stupid of Riley to keep Bell because of that. Should've have traded him, along with the other expiring contracts. Bell will be back playing in about a month. Plenty of playoff contender teams would have gone for him.
The Golden State D-Leaguers (oops I mean Warriors) plan to sign D-Leaguer Reggie Williams to a 10 day contract tomorrow.
Ellis and Biedrins aren't going to play in upcoming road trip due to injuries.

Well, isn't it too late for a contender to sign Raja Bell now? Way to kick the guy while he's down. Should have just let go of Devean George and gotten another warm body from the NBDL.
Edit: Nevermind, I read that Raja Bell signed something that said him getting cut in the meantime won't affect him resigning with the Warriors later.

The Warriors will never be a much of a contender for a title any time soon. The Lakers have shown that to be true. Not to mention their record.
Great news! Chris Cohan has officially put the Warriors up for sale! YESSSSS!!!
He's officially hired GSP (no not Georges St Pierre) in Galatioto Sports Partners to help facilitate the sale and serve as a financial adviser.
LARRY ELLISON, HERE HE COMES!! (well it's not officially his yet, but he has made the top offer).

Official press release:
OAKLAND, Calif. – The Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA) have retained Galatioto Sports Partners (“GSP”) to conduct a sale of the Team, it was announced today. GSP, acting as the Club’s exclusive financial advisor, will manage all aspects of the sales process. As such, all related inquiries should be made directly to GSP.
Neither the Warriors nor GSP anticipate making any further public comments regarding the sales process until and unless a definitive agreement on a transaction is reached.
The Warriors, currently majority-owned by Christopher Cohan, are a premier NBA franchise located in the San Francisco Bay Area, the fifth-largest market in the NBA. The team plays its home games in Oakland, California, at Oracle Arena.
Galatioto Sports Partners, the leading sports advisory and finance firm, specializes in providing investment banking and innovative financing solutions to the global professional sports market. GSP was established in early 2005 by Salvatore Galatioto. The principals of the GSP have acted in a variety of capacities on more than 70 transactions in the major North American and European sports leagues.

Some other news
Larry Ellison may not be the only interested buyer to make an offer at $315 million or more. There are many other private "groups" that could make a bigger offer in this auction-type of sale. Offers could go as high as $410 million with a future plan to move the franchise to San Francisco, a basketball stadium right next to AT&T park (at the parking lot). Whether or not this is an attempt for Cohan to force Ellison to up his bid isn't clear, but probably was one of Cohan's goals. The question is whether Ellison would raise his bid.
If/when the franchise is moved to SF, the stadium will be privately funded from investors. Some of those investors could include the SF Giants.

So far Larry Ellison's biggest competitor in bidding for the Warriors is 24 Hour Fitness founder Mark Mastrov. He is extremely interested in buying the Warriors franchise and believes that "if Ellison really wanted the team, he would have bought them by now."
Some books from GSP will be distributed to serious buyers, and then the bidding will begin.
