to me a map with any knock is a bad map...
ask me, i blew up my motor, and weather the map is released or not, IMHO if you knock, you loose.
if all the maps knocked, then everyone lost. i think a "rematch" needs to be had on a day with better conditions, and a very strict set of rules. basically " who can produce more hp WITHOUT knocking, cause how can you win if your engine blows up???

alex,
I think your facts are a little biased.
Just facts:
1. i-Speed made more power
2. i-Speed, COBB and VISHNU all pinged.
3. Vishnu used a couple of maps.
Those are the facts w/out opinions.

Facts without opinions? You were not even there for a split second. How can you be talking about facts.
Ok, I will just wait for "official" post by Ed with dyno maps and more.

So there was a fan in place over the intercooler - thanks for clarifying that, zumnwrx.

How about we settle this little dispute at buttonwillow on April 24th?
First car at the end of the 1/4 strip wins.
Hell, I'll even allow for two categories... 2.0 with unlimited tuning, and another class for whatever you want.. . 8.0 liter boxer engine... go for it.

ATPs original intercooler fan set up was inadequate. At first, they had a squirrel cage type fan which sucked in hot air from right above the turbo and blew it through 1/2 of the IC core. I had to be held in place manually while the car was running
Not ideal on many levels.I suspected that we might run into cooling issues so I brought the fan from my shop. Standard 3 blade industrial fan which bungees in place over the IC. It covers the entire core as well as some of the turbo-- cooling both in the process. It comes quite close to simulating realworld conditions where air is being ducted from the hood scoop. All the ECUs were tested with this fan in place. Come to think of it, I left it at ATP... ugh.

lol I left my extension cord there as well awhile back
I like the 1/4 mile approach myself..
I dont care for HP results and to me dyno is only one tool for tiuning.
"!/4 mile is a good test of a good tune with no octane limitations
"
Hell anyone can show HP readings but does it work and is it safe, but let us face it, HP dont mean squat if the graph is lame. I know a good tune when I see it do good when driven.
We are not tuners but happen to do a WRX that does 1/4 in the 12's and my car had 270 hp at ATP's dyno and we continued to tune it off the dyno and did really good, HP or good power graph ? you go figure. We went with the graph.
Look at the SCC mag with the SPI car 300 plus HP beaten by Rally Perf. chip (cheap) upgrade.
Drive it I say.
I am not biased, just want to see the end results.
cheers

fact ( P ) Pronunciation Key (fkt)
n.
Knowledge or information based on real occurrences: an account based on fact; a blur of fact and fancy.
Something demonstrated to exist or known to have existed: Genetic engineering is now a fact. That Chaucer was a real person is an undisputed fact.
A real occurrence; an event: had to prove the facts of the case.
Something believed to be true or real: a document laced with mistaken facts.
A thing that has been done, especially a crime: an accessory before the fact.
...
just because its documented doesn't mean its fact.
here's an example (i too like examples)
1. i-Speed made more power <<< FACT
2. i-Speed was pinging so bad<<<< Opinion
, that the one and only run was aborted <<<< FACT
3. COBB and VISHNU made less power, but completed the runs they were given and did not produce sustained detonation.<<<<OPINION
