Anyone been out to Badger in the past few weeks/ months? Trying to get out there to use some free passes, but not sure where to stay that's cheap and close. Looking for suggestions.
Teeny tiny Boreal is 380 acres, so Badger is barely a quarter of that. And our recent prolonged dry spell doesn't help things for any resort for that matter, but esp. for the smaller spots.
Over the past few years, I also haven't bothered to use the China Peak comps. I may eventually since I do have relatives that live in the valley just northwest of Fresno, so I could combo up a visit to see them w/ a trip to the slopes. I hear it's a decent li'l mtn.
But in re: to lodging, any of these seem fine:
Yosemite Accommodations | Yosemite National Park Accommodations
After checking out the Wikipedia entry on the resort, staying in one of the ski huts sounds awesome!

Month.
Several resorts have deeply discounted rates on beginner packages (rental equipment, beginner lift ticket & group lesson).
For example, $49 at Alpine Meadows (compared to regular price of $149-189)
$49 Learn to Ski & Ride Special at Alpine Meadows | Squaw Alpine
Sierra-at-Tahoe's $45 online special (vs. the $114-124 walk-up price)
Ski and Snowboard Lessons in South Lake Tahoe | Sierra at Tahoe
* Afaik, this one is all season long.
There are more places w/ deals, but I don't have time right now to look 'em up for you. (But Google is your friend.

Yea I'm regretting putting the snow tires back on my truck haha.

Like I said.... freakin' JUNE-uary.
Nothing significant in the pipeline at all. Cross yer fingers for a Phenomenal February!
Steve, when you & the boys head up to the PNW next month, pls bring some weather back down here for us.
Last time I talked to Ray, he's was thinking of doing the annual in Arnold/Bear Valley no sooner than a few wknds after y'all get back. Ya know, to give your wallets some recovery time.
Sounds like March 21-22 or March 28-29 up for consideration then.
