Without a doubt that's what northstar is best know for, their parks are world class. As far as everything else? Meh. I'm just a advanced skier and I'm not really challenged by anything there. Don't get me wrong I have had tons of fun there, but I kinda think most of the crowd that goes there is the Bay Area once or twice a year gapers, lol....which I have nothing wrong with.

I agree. My buddies and I are terrain park junkies so.. We go there. As for all mountain... I feel like heavenly has died down a bit I learned to ski/board since I was 6 over there. What other mountains are good do you think? I mainly stick to what's available to my epic pass... Squaw is only meh.. Its just a bigger n*.

I love squaw, I think Kwood and squaw are my favorites. Squaw gets pretty crowded though but the terrain there is world class (KT22, granite chief, headwall, siberia) all badass terrain that makes my butthole pucker lol...give squaw another chance. I've been to every mountain in Tahoe minus boreal and homewood and there are some fun mountains like Mt Rose (I actually have a pass there this year) sugar bowl is effin awesome for badass terrain and their "switching yard" terrain park is damn good for my skill level. Alpine is a great mountain too. Wasnt too crazy about sierra and diamond peak, not bad just not kirkwood lol.

Hit up Bear Valley today with a few i-club folks (xxSti05xx (Steve D), Onemanarmy (Ray), stg2lgcy00 (Justin))...boy did we make the right decision on heading to Bear with this monster storm coming in. Bear's base is at 7600k and snow levels were forecasted to be at 7k+. I was watching the weather.com doppler all night and after 2 am it started to get real good and snow was piling up. We showed up to Rays cabin in Arnold early as hell and headed to Bear, all rain the whole way till 6k and it turned to heavy snow that was sticking. We got tons of fresh turns in with lots of yard sales, and double ejections on my part, lol. What a day, good powder turns are so hard to come by I knew that bear would be the best chance for me to work on my deep pow skiing. Here are some pics of today.

Hella fun day for sure. My legs are sore as **** right now though That pow was deeeeeep and heavy. Helped Sr20steve(Steve) recover one of his skis after his yard sale. It was buried somewhere and he couldn't find. When I unstrapped and stepped off my board, my foot sank into waist deep snow.
You had to be super cautious and careful out there today for sure.

In Tahoe right now, Sunnyside, Tahoe City. Lake Level.

Rain still at 8pm. All the snow is washing away. On the drive up it was pouring rain the whole time, even over Donner Pass.

Hoping for snow tonight or I just might have to go be dumb in Reno tomorrow.

Today sucked.... All the snow that we got from last night is almost gone. I am only hoping we get more snow because we just got washed away with all this rain. I was hoping to would snow this morning which is why I stayed last night since I figured it would be awesome but we got punched in the face with a rain spell.

Also smart move as to going to Bear... I was told they got dumped on. If I wasnt so hung over from last night I wouldve gone with my buddy haha

For the record, I used to drive the I80 route all the time to go up there, till I went up 50. Now, I only go 80 if I HAVE to. 50 is so much quicker (and a helluva lot more fun in my WRX!)

50 is a good highway until you hit echo summit lol.

Coming from santa cruz going to south lake 50 is faster anyways.

The last few years ive been staying faithful to 88 and kirkwood tho.

Havent been to tahoe in forever!

Current plan is to hit up Kirkwood on Saturday! I wonder how close they are to opening the backside. I can only imagine how bad the holiday crowd will be if only the front is open.
