Went up to Truckee with a buddy Sat. night and traffic was very light other than one spinout that maybe held us up 10 minutes...no chain controls. Fought the traffic from Truckee to Squaw Sunday morning. Used a Shell voucher so half price tickets. Spent most of the day on the backside using the Granite Chief lift. Some white out conditions at the top of Squaw, but once we got down into the back side, it was glorious. Tons of fresh powder. I'm so glad I got a day like that in this Winter.
We left Sqaw at 3:30 and I didn't get back to Santa Rosa until midnight. There were at least two accidents on 80 that turned it into a parking lot for hours. The first was a rollover, and I didn't ever see the 2nd one.
I was the ******* in the yellow WRX passing everyone on the right. We eventually were able to exit to 20 which was freshly plowed and empty, thank god...
Next weekend, first autocross.

I'm headed to Kirkwood Saturday solo, looks like light snow so I'm hoping to get some terrain park progress in...gotta be back in the bay fairly early and ready to drink all night with my boy who is throwing a **** cancer party (he just beat hodgkins lymphoma). Should be a retarded awesome sat.
I'm heading up to Kirkwood Saturday morning. I hear it's going to snow quite a bit. Even though the STi is AWD, are they still going to require chains?
Please advise, cuz otherwise I take a lame CR-V

Your STi will do just fine in the snow. Even if you were to get stopped cause they don't know the car, which they should know by now, you tell them it's AWD and there are cables in the truck just in case. They'll wave you through.
