Matt, Steve & gunmtl: I'm hoping to head up on the evening of the 10th, too. We'll likely be staying @my nephew's best friend's place near Fallen Leaf Lake. I'll hit y'all up as the trip approaches. I'm sure my buddy who's coming along would be down to meet up w/ y'all in Stateline that nite. Maybe 04Impreza & his peeps will be around to share a pint or two as well. Can't wait to hit up The Wood w/ everyone though. If I don't head there 2mrw (pending the a.m. road & snow report) and stick w/ the more wind-protected & more easily-accessible Sierra, the 11th will be my 1st visit this year.
Such a shame since I love that place!

So I'll just miss you guys
Wind and freezing rain are no bueno. Of course I love powder days to. That's when I take the sled out and hit up some real backcountry at Sonora Pass...since I live right there.
Unfortunately for me though, I just snapped the better of my two park boards so the remainder of spring riding won't be as fun.

I'll leave it to you to re-post that in the skier rollcall thread. No one will mess w/ The Godfather.
"Shane was a member of the K2 Skis team and was a creative thinker who challenged conventional wisdom in ski design. His Pontoon rockered powder ski, introduced in 2004, was one of the most profound innovations in ski design in decades. His concept was soon after adopted by the snowboard market thus making the sports more fun for millions of enthusiasts."
Anytime he spotted people on Spatulas or Pontoons, he asked what they thought, genuinely interested in their feedback. But he’d never say, “I invented those.” .....Many believe that it is his visionary gift of rocker to ski and snowboard technology that has forever changed riding powder.
You're welcome, Snowboarders

Yeah crazy deals right now. Too bad I really need boots not a board.
I might hit up the SC deal next year if it's still available to me. wink* I found out they're still making the twinza in 162.
But part of me really wants to get something like the vrocker custom x or a fish for my pow board. Keep my 163 for day to day duty. Just something crazy pow centered. The 166 is cool but it's STIFF as nails and can be a bit tough if I need to olley a stump or a rock or something like that. It really just likes to go ***** to the walls all the time.
oh.... and I'm trying to put together a couple day trips before my season is up.
This Thursday and possible next Tuesday or Wed.

Danielle: Just good ol' ribbin'. Sliding is sliding, right? Except when someone slideslips the whole way down a section to ruin all our pow.
Oh, and Shane was the MAN! RIP
Ray: I need boots, too. I waited too long to pull the trigger on a pair I had my eye on but are now "out of stock."
I hope you get a couple more days in, bro. For now, I'm supposed to hit up Bear next Tues (possibly Mon & Tue). My cousins & their families are staying in some condos in Angels Camp. They want me to drive my car to bring my aunt & uncle (their parents). It'd be sick to meet up w/ you on Tues since most of them are beginners to low-intermediates.

If you head up next week let me know. Maybe I can make it happen on tuesday.
If the snow is good I hope you don't mind spittin up for a run or two to the cuts. haaa.
It can get pretty thin back there in the spring and I've actually had to hike out so I'm scared to take lower level folks out there this time a year. But the base is still high right now so I think we might be safe.
Friggin nearly a 100 inches heading in to april. not bad. Shoot if it keeps snowin we might have to get some sleds or do that bc cat trip if it's going. haaaa.

Ssshhhhh... I snowboard too
but only like 4-5 days a season, and I make it about half-way thru the day before I throw my skis back on

Got to wash and wax the gigantor motor home. That's a full day right there. haaaa.

I'm waiting for my new Signal to come, but I won't get it until summer since their mid-production on other boards.
