My first time hitting Bear Valley, I'm excited!

 

If you go left off the 3 chair coming up the face... strap in and roll to the cornice (left)... go all the way to the end and the last 20 feet or so of the cornice is pretty sick right now. Ranging from 15-20 foot drop to something you can roll into if you want. I hit it a few times over the 4 days. Fun. Don't have to carry all that much speed if you don't want. I hit it pretty good once. Haaaa.

 

I'm too sore to do anything at this point. I would have thought the soreness would be gone by now, nope. My fingers hurt even. My knee is jacked though. I have a hard time just trying to sit down in the car. I can't support myself on that leg. So I'm gonna need till mid March to get this thing to cool off.

Plus since we just got the furniture, we can finally start putting the room together and hanging the pictures up and doing all this stuff before Jack makes his arrival.

If you got those videos, try to shoot them over to me.

 

Bear is fun. It's a small mountain, but it's got really nice tree runs. Watch out for the Koala chair, it's super sketchy.

Yea the cornice is nice right now. You can do a little 2 ft drop or be like OneManArmy and hit the 15 ft side. Nothing like seeing him and then not seeing him as he goes off it.

 

I stuck it though. haaaa.


Funny that I did that all ***** to the wall and then pussed out on the pillows in the cuts. I should have just booted that at speed. I would have been fine. But gotta go with the gut and at the speed I was going I would have FLOWN off that thing. Didn't know where the F I was.




as for your knee. I'd HIGHLY advise going in dude. You guys have insurance right now so I'd use it. Go get it checked out. Get an MRI. You might find out that it's not a big deal or you may need to get it scoped out. At least you'll know and you can put into motion and plan for whatever needs to happen. I'd also see if the doctor can hook you up with a wrap around ice pack. They're about $60 if you get one on your own. Or I can lend you mine. Take some anti inflamatories and wrap that thing around your leg when you go to sleep. You'll wake up feeling WAY better.

My friggin leg has been spasming for the last 2 days but I'm good to go. I was surprised how good I felt on monday minus the takilla gut. I could have road all day I think.

Seriously though. Last thing you want to do is find out you had a super minor injury that just needed ice and rest but you messed it up with overuse and end up with a major surgery. Don't want you dealing with what I got to deal with.

If all pix in Lowball's series are from the same spot, there is NO way in hell that's N*! Even though they've lost a place on my "must-shred" list so I've only gone a few times in the 5 years or so, I know they don't have any open bowls as seen in the 1st pic. Plus, their gondola doesn't run along any of their parks, which looks like a really wide run for N*, btw.

Though Lance's mtn digs looks about as pimp as I've heard it's getting up in N*, my guess is that it's Squawllywood (if it's somewhere in Tahoe). But I'm gonna take a shot in the dark that it's Mammoth. I've never been but hope to in the next season or two.

Anyway, good way to bump the thread! Do them dances, peeps, for more pow this week!

Boardoholic is spot on!!!! MAMMOTH LAKES, CA! Only a short 4.5hrs drive from Roseville! The place goes off to say the least...we only wish we would have hit it on a powder day...the possibilities are endless!

We go every year and usually stay at Chamonix but this year we mixed it up a bit and hit this pimp place called Solstice.
