Pzero m/s will work. I run them. They may ask if you have chains though. If it gets gnarly pull some air pressure out.

Hey guys i got a season pass to northstar/sierra this year. i like to go up pretty much every single weekend . anywhooo - last weekend at sierra was insane! i am jealous of you squaw guys though...
I had those tires. Don't want to scare but they grip for sh** in the snow. The one time and last time I went up with them I got a good scare. Most of of you know where that 76 station on Hwy 88 is right past Pionner on the right hand side. Well its a small downhill to it. I was coming slow, it was snowing and the roads were covered in snow and slush maybe about an 1". I started braking about 100' before so I can turn into the gas station. Well lets say I slid right past it. Once I did stop I had a incredibly hard time even going up the small incline to the gas station. AWD means nothing if not equipped with the right tires.
In very light snow like 1/4" they handle ok, throw anything nasty at them and they are horrible.
Pirelli now has the PZero Nero All Season which look to be alot better.

Anyway, all season is still a "good-enough" option for folks like me that don't have the space or $$ for a separate set of tires and/or wheels.
Me and my buddy are hitting up Sierra again on Saturday! Yeah!

You sure there wasn't ice underneath the snow on your braking zone? I have the same tires, and did the same thing (slid past the turn) at Northstar last year. Had to make a U-turn at the next "corner", and when I went back, I saw an ice patch where I was braking. I'm guessing there probably was a big ice patch there, hidden underneath the snow.

Nope no ice. Even trying to drive in about 1" of unplowed snow I was having a hard time trying not to spin all 4 wheels. Wasn't giving it much gas either. Sorry to say those tires suck in the snow, but good in dry and wet. Not enough sipes on those tires. Since then I switched over to the Bridgestone RE960AS Pole Position, way better tire in the snow.

You know, I saw a V8 mustang at the Sierra parking lot a couple weeks back with the same tires (or at least, same tread pattern). You can see the rear tires slipping-catching-slipping-catching traction while he was getting out of parking. But you can hear (exhaust) that he was very smooth/gentle on the throttle, and he got out without the rears stepping out on him.

Thanks for the heads up, man. I personally haven't had any problems (except for that one time ice patch incident). Perhaps driving in I-mode and having extra weight with passengers helped with keeping traction
