O yea that reminds me ---

Would be a good Idea to dodge Northstar this weekend because they are having the MTN. Dew Freestyle Competition this entire weekend up at northstar. They just finished building their monster pipe and a nice terrain park and I'm guessing there is going to be a ton of people there watching.

gunmtl. I haven't ridden much at squaw. Is that a hike to spot? How longs the hike?

Yesterday would have been money. Today too. Storm let up early on me.

Everyone be careful out there over the next few days and especially after this next system hits as all the new snow will be on top of a very thin layer of ice and a lot more pow. Big big bad avalanche condish. Be careful. I don't want to hear about anyone.

Damn, Lance. Sorry to hear. What happened? Mtn biking? Repetitive-lifting injury fr baby care?

On future trips, I'll make a point of getting in touch w/ my inner shutterbug, esp. those moments were the view is raw & epic (a la gunmtl's shot). Gotta keep i-club's powderhound Godfather happy, eh?

By the way, y'all... just did 2 amazing days at Kirkwood on Thur & Fri. Tons of snow = tons of fun!

Alright since I got nothing else to do... here is a pic of some heads hiking granite chief at squaw valley. This is a killer hike if your not use to the 8300 foot elevation. I only made it up to where that guy is in the middle.

I had arthroscopic hip surgery back in OCT...so March 6th will be my 1st and maybe only day this season...gotta keep it low impact until next season...and if you know me I tend not to be low impact and have a hard time not riding aggressively...

Surgery was due to a old snowboard injury down @ Mammoth back in the 90's...huge table-top, missed the landing, almost dislocated the hip. Had surgery two year later cuz I couldn't take it anymore...so this was just a revisit...

I remember hiking that one time in fairly new snow...about 1 to 1.5 feet of fresh...only made it about half way up before I was totally out of breath! Snow was awesome though!

Silverado is another area @ Squaw that a lot of people tend not to hit...that and Broken Arrow. Both area have some really good black-d runs!

Thanks for the photos...keep them coming!

My brother rode Squaw on Thursday of last week and it was the first day they'd opened Silverado. He took one sick run and then the next was a 45 min. to 1 HOUR wait at the bottom to get back on the chair. Silverado can get like that when it hasn't been opened in a while 'cause of the slow chair and all the good terrain. The Granite Chief hike is great towards the end of the day when everything else has already been tracked. The wifey and I are going next weekend with a bunch of friends, but I may try to sneak off on Tues. or Weds. depending on the snow reports
