That is why, when I lived in SoCal, we carried a million candlepower spotlight which plugs into the cigarette lighter quite nicely. Roll down the window, aim it at the driver side, and usually the bright beams disappear. If they don't, then brake check them...

I would have pulled over, let them pass, then got on their *** brights on.

Same thing going south - as soon as you pass Millbrae, you're in stop and go, but then around 92/Hillsdale, it opens up again. Plus, all that construction went on in that area to do what, build a freakin' larger shoulder? Are they serious???
Since I do a lot of flying out of SFO I've started noticing that 101 slowdown spot. I really think it's because people freak out about that turn and the construction. They don't know what to do about the concrete medians so they slow way the hell down.

..... plus, it just looks ****ing ridiculous.... especially on a Prius which is easily the most usual suspect for this
You sure about that? My DRLs are the same as when I turn the **** for the headlights.

Also, driving with your headlights on during the day isn't pointless, it increases your visibility. I know what you're thinking, "Mother F-er, you're driving a car, how can people not see it?" which is the same question I've asked myself multiple times when people appear to have not seen my god damn car. So I'll happily take any additional measures to increase my visibility.

second of all if i have my little boy in the backeseat and i wanna go 55 or 60 on the freeway and im in the slow lane. **** OFF!! if i am not doing it in the fast lane dont jump on my *** and expect me to go faster. if i am in the #1 land driving that slow, fine i understand, but thats why its the slow lane *******s. after all the speed LIMIT is 65 doesnt mean i have to drive it. if my son is in my car and i decide thats a safe speed to drive at and it keeps him asleep. you can go **** your self.

everything else i agree with.
Using that logic, doesn't that mean that if you felt it was appropriate to do 35mph, then to hell with everyone else? If you want to do less than 65mph then maybe you should reexamine your reasons for getting on the freeway in the first place.

Also, lane 1 is the fast lane, lane 2 is the lane to the right of that, and so on. Lane numbering and positions start on the left.

I probably would have just stopped in the middle of the lane, got out of the car and had a calm conversation with them about driving behind people with their brights on.

As do I, because I can tell you right now, someone stops in front of me and gets out of their car coming back to my car, they are going to get 2 in the chest.

The DRLs on my bugeye were noticeably dimer, same with my Dodge. Maybe it's different when you've actually got good headlamps?

People that don't see an entire car in broad daylight are hardly likely to see an entire car with it's lights on in broad daylight.

There was no safe spot to pull over, otherwise I would have done exactly that.

As far as getting out of my car and talking to them: I am a 5'-0", 108 lbs (on a fat day) girl. I would automatically lose if they wanted to start something physical.

People with trailers are required to drive no faster than 55 MPH Assuming that there is always at least one 18-wheeler or someone with a boat/gardeners trailer/horse trailer/ etc on the highway, if he does 55 or 60 in the right hand lane there should be no problem.
