Begin socal rant:

I much prefer going 55-65 in norcal, instead of 10mph everywhere in socal. Why is there traffic on 110 at 2 in the morning? Oh yah, socal drivers can't drive!

Oh noes, it's raining, and 405 is packed after an accident. Maybe I can take the 5... oh wait, there's an accident there too. Maybe i'll take 57 to 605 over to 10... oh wait, there's an accident too... why's that? Oh yah, socal drivers can't drive!

One more thing, at least in norcal, traffic is only in certain sections at certain times. 101 north from 8am-9am... avoid. 85 north from 730am-930am from union to saratoga... avoid! 101 north at 6pm near Peninsula... stay to the right! Outside of those hours, it's wide open.

In socal, traffic time is 7:30am-10am, 11am-1pm, 3pm-8pm on every freeway. AND the carpool needs THREE people wtf? Hey look over there, 2 lanes of nicely paved road that no one's driving on... wait what? You have to buy a fastrack and pay to drive on it?

End socal rant

Norcal drivers used to go 80 as normal flow maybe 4-5 years ago, but CHP has really stepped it up around here the past 2-3 years with speed traps and the avg. speed has gone down pretty considerably.

these same people are the ones who don't press the gas at the bottom of a hill on a freeway, which then makes them slow down as they start going up the hill, which then makes everyone else behind them slow down, which then causes lame, unnecessary traffic at sections of freeway right before an incline

these type of people also brake going uphill to slow down 1-5 mph when in reality they can just let off the gas. And i would write all the things that **** me off but it would just **** me off for the next few hours.

This was definitely true on 680s from Fremont-San Jose. I used to do 80-85 with the flow of traffic on my way to SJSU but recently, flow of traffic is about 70-75. Its about a weekly occurrence to see 3 bike cops hiding under the overpass in the center divide somewhere after 237. Then again, 680n in the same area is still about 75-80mph.

Also, Who in their right F****** minds thinks its OK to chill in the fast lane at 55 right next to another car so that traffic can't flow, there is a reason why Europeans drive the way they do, its faster and its safer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

... which are the same ******** that stay in the fast lane on 101 in millbrae but are too afraid to drive next to the concrete barriers and slow way down... and then decide to go that same speed after the construction.

Basically, most drivers are retards and pansies - too scared to go fast, too scared to drive close to the median, too scared to take turns without having to brake through the entire turn, too scared to drive too close to other cars, too dumb to realize it only takes X feet for your car to come to a complete stop at X speed, etc.

Also, can anyone explain to me why in the hell traffic ALWAYS comes to a crawl at 101 in Burlingame? Going north, 101 seriously turns into a parking lot around Broadway, but then transitions into the freakin' autobahn by the Airport - it makes no sense. Same thing going south - as soon as you pass Millbrae, you're in stop and go, but then around 92/Hillsdale, it opens up again. Plus, all that construction went on in that area to do what, build a freakin' larger shoulder? Are they serious???

I coulnd't agree more about the difference between Nor Cal and So Cal Drivers. People in So Cal Drive with a purpose. To get from Point A to Point B as a fast as possible. Just be glad you don't drive in North Bay traffic.

Nor Cal drivers also drive with a purpose - hypermiling.

ranting for socal. The signs that say "no left turn" and specify a certain time and the 24/7 carpool lanes that clog up anyways during rush hour on 405.

The ranting for norcal has pretty much been explained when i had to go through rush hour traffic crossing dumbarton to palo alto.

For everywhere.. People who think it is awesome to speed up to beat the red light, then realize that there is a camera and the light has turned yellow. They then proceed, like idiots, to slam on their brakes since they aren't sure whether they will make it or not. Good job people. Now go retake the driving portion of the test..

I actually had some good luck this past weekend driving to Sacramento from Concord. I'd be driving 75-90 in the fast lane and people would switch to the middle to let me pass.
