$65k for an R34 that you can't legally drive? No thanks. Just get a low mileage 996TT and be done with it.
Although I knew a guy that bought a brand new R34 VSpecII NUR from Motorex back in 2002 for $105k.

I heard of that 25 year mark thing but I just checked the DMV website and nowhere does it say anything about 25 years doesn't need to pass smog. It says 1975 and older doesn't need to. Someone straighten this out for me..

Dude, how old were you in '02? Everyone was pretty convinced Motorex was legit at the time (because they WERE), including mainstream import media. If you were around in the '80s, you would also remember how popular grey-market Euro imports were. Lots of things have changed for the worse for us to get where we are these days.

The GT-R name was disassociated from the Skyline Name when the new model R35 came out. This is similar to what Subaru is planning on doing with the WRX / STI platforms vs the Impreza platforms. While they used to all be built off the same base platform (Subaru's currently still are until otherwise noted) the Skyline & GT-R are no longer built off the same base hence why the new R35 is not a Skyline GT-R, but simply a GT-R.
Skyline name = all the way back through the days of the Prince Car Company.
Skyline GT-R = Days of the Hakosuka (PGC10 / KPGC10) through the R34.
GT-R = Days of the Hakosuka (PGC10 / KPGC10) through the present R35.

I think I was in 5th grade, but thats besides the point. Did Motorex have federal documentation saying that the R34 passed safety inspections and emissions? I highly doubt it because they were never legal. It doesn't matter if people were "convinced" that motorex is legit, I would need that documentation, I don't listen to media crap or word of mouth.
Have you even done any research about the Motorex story? You're just arguing for the sake of arguing at this point. Here's the NHTSA documentation regarding Motorex's work with the federal government to bring R33's up to federal code:
http://www.nicoclub.com/articles/NHTSA-update.pdf
Motorex DID in fact have federal documentation for the R33, but lied about the crash tests (to not just the public, but to the feds who had already approved sales, but then rescinded approval after discovery of the lie), then lied about about the approval of the R32 and R33 too.

**** off, man. It's not beside the point -- it's like someone my age talking about the Vietnam War; I wasn't there to experience the era firsthand, so I'll never know what it was really like. Guys my age were already gearheads when you were still in your diapers.

And don't assume I'm trying to pick a bone with you. YOU need to pissoff, I was nice and relaxed just questioning things, trying to get the facts, is that a problem? No. Sorry, but now I'm heated. I hate when people assume ****

Anything older than that is no smog, anything newer than that does have smog. There is no 25yr old limit - it does not apply to anything after '75.

I'm not arguing for the sake of arguing. Look at that document you just posted a link of! That says 2008 not 2002! I've read through most of that document. You sound like you are from Nasioc... Yeah you are well respected on here but damn dude, relax. From my understanding with the research that I HAVE DONE, they crash tested only R33's and didn't comply with the WHOLE crash but still got them federally safety legal and emissions as well but lied about crash testing the r32's and r34's. They did lie about crashing the r33's. Show me something that says otherwise.
And don't assume I'm trying to pick a bone with you. YOU need to pissoff, I was nice and relaxed just questioning things, trying to get the facts, is that a problem? No. Sorry, but now I'm heated. I hate when people assume ****

And sorry I came off kinda strong, I might have taken your tone incorrectly (because we all know tone comes across really easily when we type, right? LOL).
Info-wise, we're on the same page; I never said they didn't lie about crash-testing the R33 -- they did lie to the feds, but the feds approved before they realized that they were being lied to. It was after discovery of the lie that approval was revoked, but by then Motorex had lied about the R32 and R34 as a whole. So I'm sure you can see why everyone believed Motorex when even the feds believed them and gave them approval.
And if you don't get that, then really: ezouza22 pls.
