All that stuff for $120 is pretty aggressive. I'd have to suggest that it won't get you all the way to that pop that you're after. As 'N00by says above there's nothing wrong with your pictures, but there's only so much you can get out of a particular camera that's intended to be very versatile in a no-fuss package.

Given just those two shots you put in above I'd suggest putting that $120 toward a digital SLR, even if it means hanging on for a while. The Canon XT is still a pretty good camera, and the package can be had for about $500. It'll let you do some of the things that you find are out of reach on the Kodak.

^^^ I was about to say the exact same thing. 50mm f/1.4 is in the $200's. On my teachers Nikon D2X, he has a $2000+ lens, think its a 120-300mm f/2.8. Intense, I know.

I just ordered this tonight:

Canon XTi Kit (18-55mm Lens)
Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG APO Lens
Canon 50mm f/1.8 Lens
SanDisk Ultra II 2GB CF Card
Tiffen 52mm UV Filter for Canon 50mm Lens

Came out around $1000, less than noobies new lens, LOL.

worth it?
I was interested in those, check amazon and their reviews. On P&S Cameras such as yours, they don't get very positive feedback. If you are interested in photography, trust me, get an DSLR like someone has posted before me. I wanted the Canon S3IS, then wanted S5IS, then said might as well go DSLR and get D40, then said wait, D40 will need upgrade real soon, so D40x, then no has lens limitations, then XTi, High Five!!

As far as the photo hosting, definately invest in that. My photos always look kinda hazey cuz photobucket and myspace downgrade the quality. The next thing I'm getting is a domain name to host my pics.
Depending on what kind of photo account it is that you are looking for, the one I use, smugmug, is pretty good. If you do decide to go for it, pm me for a discount code. It will get you 5 dollars off the regular subscription price. Not a lot I know, but a little savings can be nice

How about Flickr? I hear that is free and still gives you the good quality that photobucket and myspace lack.

^^ Are you serious? That sounds pretty cool. Is it easy to create your own website and get 1000GB transfer and 1000GB storage? $50/year is pretty good considering smugmug.com is $40/year.
John

I guess flickr is a no no right?

^^Yup, and thats not that bad, $1200 lens. I'm sure there are much more expensive L lenses. I don't see myself ever buying one of those.

Down the line, I think I will purchase a Sigma 10-20mm WD Lens and a Canon 60mm or 100mm Macro Lens.

I'm planning to only use the Sigma 70-300mm right now to learn, and of course I will upgrade, it IS better than the 70-300mm from Canon.

My next body will probably be a used 40D or MIGHT be a 5D....Hehehehe
