Malone is feeling so good after his RBI single that he dons a hoody.
And to top it off, he comes into to score a few batters later. lmao!

Went to last night's game w/ the fam. Entertaining game. Too bad Milone faltered in the 4th and have a solid shot at a "W."
Just read up on today's game. Awesome for A.J. w/ his complete game shutout. 2nd straight game w/ a jack by Donaldson as he continues to show he deserves to be an All-Star. Let's get a campaign going up in here!
Btw, if y'all didn't know already... Costco sells a pair of Lower Box seats for only $49.99. This comes close to nearly half off for games vs. the more popular opponents. The vouchers can only be redeemed at the stadium... no online or phone purchases.
They are valid for all but 5 remaining games (4 of those happen to be fireworks nites). Each ticket also come w/ a $10 credit for food and/or merchandise. We sat on the aisle of Sec 126, Rows 18 & 19. My brother picked these up just last Fri. A killer deal on really good seats!

Good sounding deal. Thanks for the heads up.
Also, lose a series to Seattle, but come home and outscore the Reds 12-3?

Yeah, after sweeping the Yankees a couple weeks back and nabbing the division in the process, 'twas teh suxorz to lose the next 3 series. Three of those losses were only by a run each. If they'd pull out a W in those, they'd have secured taken the home series vs. the Seattle as well as TEX on the road.
Luckily, they're only a game back from the Rangers after barely keeping hold and/or sharing the top spot over the past 2 weeks. Hoping for a really solid run to the break!

Woot!
2 of 3 from the big birds, not bad. Surprisingly this is the A's best record this far into the season since 1992. That's going way back to the Bash Brothers years.

Nice come from behind win last nite! Although Norris has been in a slump and is still hitting below the Mendoza line, his homers always seem to come up in clutch situations. And it's crazy how Norris only got the nod to start cuz in the morning the Cubs traded away the righty pitcher whose turn in the rotation it was. Their AAA call-up is a lefty, so Norris was swapped out for Vogt. Btw, stoked that Vogt FINALLY got his 1st career hit in the bigs by going yard a few games ago.
I'm bummed that Parker went down on Sat. He had made quite the turnaround compared to his first half dozen or so starts. Looks like they make the call on his status sometime today as he still had tightness after yesterday's bullpen sesh.
Today, Chubby Checker (AKA Bartolo Colon) goes for his ninth straight W today!

Yup! I'm stoked, too. Even if Colon's numbers don't keep pace w/ the current Cy Young contenders, his $3 M salary was probably Beane's most sensible offseason decisions. The pitching staff is still in its infancy as well as an ace who struggles to stay healthy.
Just need Reddick to continue making offensive progress, and fer Christ's sake, can Chris Young turn it around already? Granted he does decent against divisional pitchers, but Sheesh! his offensive output and far too often his defense is sorely lacking.
Yet still needing relatively minor tweaks here & there, the team as a whole is in real good shape to repeat as AL West champs.

I'm not sold on Anderson being the Ace. Aside from some late season magic last year, before his foot injury this season he was pitching badly. I don't think he had one quality start this year.
Aside from Colon, the rest of the rotation always seem to have one in inning really get away from them. They each have a few games where they e been locked in, but more often than not, there's just a 1-2 inning stretch where they get burned.
I don't doubt that AJ, Milone, and Parker will improve, but at times they're confusing to watch when they struggle to get key outs.
That being said, the offense is getting back to where it should be and the bullpen is pitching great.
This team has that same resiliency from last year and its fun to see it.

I agree w/ your thoughts on Anderson. I had put quotes on the word ace but then removed them. Shoulda kept 'em there, eh? I guess it's more accurate to say Melvin designated him as the No. 1 guy in the rotation.
And hellz yeah the pen has been super consistent & reliable! Stoked that their solid performance thus far has kept the offense in position to make comebacks, esp. dramatic walkoffs!
I feel your frustration at those fall-apart innings that Parker, Milone & AJ are afflicted with far too often for my liking.
<--- This is me during those torturous moments.
I dunno why but when the season got underway I think it took a few more series than it should have for me to be totally on board w/ Lowrie. But he & Donaldson have been nothing short of A-mazing! (See what I did there?!?
)
So just in case y'all haven't already, the All-Star voting closes at 8:59pm PDT tomorrow, July 4th! I'm not on social media, so those of y'all that are... ask anyone & everyone to help us get one of our faves on the squad.
