Like this one?

Mitch: I would pitch Arias a fastball up

Hamels throws a belt high fastball

Mitch: That wasn’t high enough

Hamels throws a high fastball and Arias hits a single up center

Mitch: ….

LOL

Yea he threw him 2 high fastballs. Not smart to throw them back to back. Williams said earlier that he needed to change the batter's eye by moving the pitch somewhere else. He's not gonna repeat himself 5 innings later.

Yeah the commentators seemed knowledgeable, had a few questionable calls on plays and were boring as hell...

I muted it and watched it with music on

Had to leave mid game for a call but seems as though we came out with another win!

Yea they didn't have a lot of excitement in their voices for sure.

I'm sorry but I really dislike Mitch Williams (and the rest of the broadcast team for that matter). He just comes across as being an arrogant, know-it-all pr*ck IMO. However, it was nice to hear him say a few good things about the Giants. In the past he didn't give them a lot credit when it was due... usually a huge Giants hater, especially in the 2010 NLCS...

Yea, I get annoyed listening to broadcasters boasting about their team so much. Not really neutral in many respects. No big deal, Giants won, Phillies can go rebuild. Giants already winning 4 games on the road trip is a big win, I was just hoping for a .500 since the Braves were on a roll. But now the Giants are putting it together away from home, and that's a very good sign.

Btw the Dodgers surprisingly beat the Mets a few times, so the Giants really didn't gain any ground.

I hope you aren't talking about the Fox announcers cause they weren't Phillies announcers. There is nothing worse than Homers who will only talk about their team and if their team is losing they find themselves talking nonsense about other crap. From the Giants games I've listened to, their announcers are guilty of this 8 times out of 10. But no one here would agree with me cause you enjoy hearing that BS nonsense.

And the Phillies don't need to rebuild. They just played half a season with an incomplete team.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "if their team is losing they find themselves talking nonsense about other crap" but I believe that most announcers are going to be biased toward their own team that they are announcing for. As for Kruk and Kuip (Giants television broadcast announcers), I feel that they do give credit when credit is due to other teams. In fact, they don't hesitate to get on their own guys and call them out for bonehead plays. They are always going to have a bit of a bias toward the Giants because their main audience is Giants fans... but they aren't even close to as bad as say, Hawk Harrelson for the White Sox.

Having to listen to out of town announcers a lot, Giants announcers aren't as bad as others. The TV announcers are far better than the KNBR guys. The Nationals announcers are lousy. They have been the worst I've heard.

I agree with McLovin and he explained what I was trying get at. I wasn't trying to say that home folks aren't supposed to boast for their team most of the time, as I know that all announcers of home crowds do, but I hear a lot about how the Giants screwed up, or what they should have done and other teams successes when it's due. They don't shy away from giving credit to the visiting team. What I heard from the Fox announcers the other day felt extremely heavy leaning toward the Phils and not much credit to the Giants when they did a few things right.

In any case, just a minor comment. Didn't want to offend anyone or have some argument in this thread.

Agree with the above...I feel like kruk and kuip give a lot of credit to other teams, players etc...better than any other "hometown" announcers I have heard...giants always get downplayed by national sports anywhere...hell when was the last time you saw giants on espn top plays? Its all AL east teams

I was pissed when matt cain didn't get much recognition on sportscenter after his perfect game...they talked more about other pitchers who have done no hitters in this season

Don't even get me started on the warriors either hahaha its worse than what the giants go though

He was straight hating on Panda at one at bat. he started talking about how he shouldnt have been in the allstar game and how fans shouldnt have that big of a say. then he said his only triple for the year was at that game. panda hit another one like two or three games back from the break. it would be awesome to have a text line like a radio show so you could talk **** to them during the game.
