I remember Newey saying they kept working on the 2013 car while other teams started to focus on the 2014 car.

RBR has been doing that for 5 years now. Obviously it's just not an issue. They have shown they can design a car around whatever engine they are given.

I can't say, but I'm pretty sure the engine barely changed the last five years with the exception of KERS and how did RBR do with their KERS system?

True, but even in Newey's first year with RBR Seb came in 2nd with a strong 2nd half push.

I don't think the 08 car was Newey's right?

Then again, they also didn't have Seb quality driving in 08 did they?

But in 2008, they basically had four cars testing parts.

Based on what we know about 2014 it seems like the new rules will favor drivers that are good at management and we've seen that both Seb and Rai are exceptional at this. I feel like for somebody like Hamilton it'll continue to be a struggle since his instinct is ***** to the wall racing and will continue to suffer from tire degradation and fuel conservation.

I think Mercedes is going to be very strong. especially in terms of reliability with these new engines. Turbo has been in their blood for what 60+ years?

Formula 1 proposes two mandatory pitstops for 2014 - F1 news - AUTOSPORT.com

Formula 1 drivers will be forced to make two pitstops, as well as face a strict limit on how long they can stay out for, if proposals for new 2014 tyre rules are accepted by teams next month.
Might as well bring back refueling then.
