How the heck have I not noticed this thread? Thanks for bumping this Ryan! *subscribing to thread...NOW*I am hoping to get back to practicing regularly (hopefully) within the next couple months once I get back into a workout routine and actually have some disposable income again
I am thinking of doing either Krav Maga, BJJ or that full contact karake...unless someone knows a good Combat Sambo school cause I will be all over that

There WAS a sambo place in the Richmond district, but they went out of business all of the sudden

Why, YES it was, for what it's worth
Actually, I found their website; apparently, they moved a few blocks down. I don't know if they're still offering sambo though.

American kids probably were just not used to traditional discipline and coaching of Russian old timers; they don't sugar coat anything and do not care about your self esteem or "positive" reinforcement
I know there is a good "In Soviet Russia..." joke here somewhere, but I am too tired right now
Hmmm...the website just seems to offer Judo...I might still give them a call.

Just a quick bump... Aoki Shinya and Imanari Masakazu had a photo session recently.
If you dunno who they are, they are the grapplers extraordinaire, the "Flying Submission 10th Degree" and "Leglock 10th Degree", respectively. Enjoy the photos!

Oh, and if you doubt their relevance:

I present to you..........
CHAOS MADMAX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's Japanese fight league that features full Lethwei rules (Burmese kickboxing: it's like Muay Thai with headbutts and all throws allowed) and either bareknuckle (tape optional) or 4 oz. glove matches.
Most of the fighters are full contact karate (Kyokushin type) practitioners, but just to keep things interesting, management brought in a few retired pro Muay Thai fighters
Think about it: full face punching with bareknuckles, headbutts, knees... let the blood flow!
