All you did was prove that it doesn't matter who the QB is. The niners win on coaching, play calling, the defense.... Gore.
Smith is less likely to loose a game all on his own but he's also less likely to win one all on his own. If the niners can remember that defense and running are their backbone and can control Kap then they'll do fine. If they try to put the post season on his shoulders they're going to get crushed.

i think the niners will come out smashing in their last game of the year. definitely going to have a bit of a chip on their shoulder after last week, me thinks...

Well they need to stick to the friggin' formula. Obvious reasons of why Kaepernick stuggled in Seattle was that he wasn't used to the play calling enough. How do I know that? Look at Alex Smith and his first game at Seattle, same situation. Look at Alex Smith the first year with Harbaugh, he was always late or the play wasn't going through or he was slow on checking at the line, but he improved this year. Same growing pains that Kaepernick will need to learn. To get good at it you have to be doing it, and yes they say if you practice harder than the game you can do it. But in the game sometimes you're seeing new looks, etc. and the QB will have to make a split second read. This is why Brady and Peyton are so good, they can diagnose a defense real quick. Kaepernick will need to learn and learn fast.
On that note, shouldn't it be almost mandatory to make adjustments at the line with just motions and movements? You play in loud stadiums, especially in Seattle, it should be done like sign language. Learning it that way will almost seemingly cut out all the audible adjustments for everyone else. The only point of having to call out/yell out is for the linement/RBs for protection/running schemes.
Anywho, the formula is run the football, play action pass, ball protection, good special teams (very iffy this year), and good defense. The rest will fall into place.
Harbaugh didn't open the playbook for Smith until the very end of last year and a lot of what he has done is coaching and play calling to beat teams. Eventually you need to evolve into a team that makes plays that is just backyard football and not all schematic. IE scrambling and getting a deep ball. Young used to do it, and the best person I can think to date that has been able to extend and still toss the rock is John Elway, maybe even Big Ben a couple years ago.

Terrible first half besides one good drive with Crabtree as the man. I just don't like the passing plays called. There have to be some receivers open. Kaepernick missed a TD pass to Moss in the end zone. LMJ looks good. Jenkins looks terrible. I sure hope he isn't a bust. Floyd looks good for Arizona. It is the end of the season and Floyd has had all season versus Jenkins.
Remember Jenkins is only in his rookie year. There used to be a time when people didn't expect Rookies to be Superstars from the get go. Wide Receivers in the past would typically have their make or break year around their 3rd season.
Great win today!!! AND a PACKERS LOSS!!!! (whoever called it in here..good call)
We get a playoff BYE which is HUGE for us cause now justin smith has an extra week of rehab time!!! We all see his absence in our defensive play...
Niners started slow today but they picked it up later on..good win..jenkins looked bad..Gore set the record for most rushing TD's as a 49er with 51! Good day.
Oh, and the seahawks (who i hate as i assume most of you do) are going to endup playing the Redskins (assuming they beat dallas tonight) which is a great matchup as a niners fan. I see the redskins rolling over the seahawks and bringing their little fantasy-undefeated-at-home-fail-mary-ref helping out-barley worthy for playoffs- season.
edit: akres....troubling...

Good win. Disappointing first half. Against Arizona, fine. But we've all seen the 49ers get bent if the other squad is able to rack points up in a hurry. 49ers can't play from behind, which to me stands out because you need to come from behind to win usually in the playoffs.
Akers... I mean in reality that guy is only hittin under 40 yards which basically means the 49ers are going to have to adjust their plays gettin just passed the 30-40 yard lines of the opposing team. 49ers got burnt vs he Rams because of all the misses.
I'm sure Harbaugh is telling Akers he's the man and he trusts him to get it done. Anything else and Akers will be more mentally ****ed than he already is.
Yea Jenkins needs more playing time. Amazing to me that Crabtree broke the thousand yard mark considering the 49ers rarely tossed the rock.

San Francisco 49ers to release Brandon Jacobs - NFL.com
San Francisco 49ers running back Brandon Jacobs' three-game suspension is over. So is his 49ers career.
Coach Jim Harbaugh indicated at his Monday press conference that the team will release Jacobs. The eight-year veteran had only five carries on the season and was suspended after writing negative comments about the 49ers on Instagram. Despite an injury to backup running back Kendall Hunter, the team has no use for Jacobs.
Jacobs has said he will only play for one team in the future: The New York Giants. That means his NFL career is very likely over.
The 49ers have more important things to worry about heading into a bye week, starting with their kicker position. Harbaugh confirmed the team plans to bring in kickers for tryouts.
"We'll evaluate the position," Harbaugh said Sunday. "It's his job to make the field goals. And it's not to his standard."

That dude is the biggest waste of raw talent since Russell.
The dude is HUGE and fast. Yet he's too scared to take people head on. He dances around like he's 5'8" and 165 pounds. He has terrible vision and no heart. It bums me out because he's such a talented dude and he's always been a real pro (until recently). Always seemed like a good dude.
The niners really didn't use him like they should have this year so I would have been pissed off too... like Tebow. But still...

I do believe the Niners would have released him earlier, but they did not want him to go back to the Giants (who probably would have picked him up if only to get inside information on the Niners). Once the Niners saw the Giants were not going to the playoffs they decided it was time for him to go.
