I know they couldn't be bothered to drive that far...even though every year we show up from an hour NORTH of the Golden Gate...and we travel all the way down there without complaint.

i think its integral that we have some sort of motorsport event wherever we go, be it a mountain drive, or an autocross. that was the fun of the mt. hammy meet, we got do DRIVE our cars with fellow subies. if we went to treasure island, it would just be a glorified UCKK meet...
Mt. Tam and Diablo are OUT- Too small for us
TI is OUT- They are doing constrution on that lawn/parking area and leveling nearly 30% of the island. They started work already. It's going to get developed.
Laguna is big enough, but we would have nothing to do there.
Thunderhill would be great! They have an AWESOME grill there, with good prices and a great selecton of food. We would HAVE to cook at all, if we told them 300-500 people are showing up, they would be ready for it. It is far, but honestly, we can make it a GREAT meet. HOWEVER, it's going to be 105F....
If you want something close, Park Presidio is the way to go. It's large enough, it has picnic areas, the weather will rock.

OK so I'll side with the Presidio too, but somebody better start working on permits and permission soon, I can't inagine that's going to be an overnight sort of arrangement.
If the event is at Thunderhill, I won't be there, sorry.
