park presidio is huge, though there is 3 grassy areas to the right as u can see by the satellite photograph.

There is also a tennis court and a bowling alley (the building to the left of the tennis court) that we can reserve for the whole day. The bowling alley is small (12 lanes) and has a restaurant grill.
It's also a great area to go site seeing as it's very close to the golden gate bridge,

-1 for me not being able to go this year....or any other for awhile.
Will most likely be in Japan or out to sea on the USS Kitty Hawk
Where ever you guys end up having it I am sure it will be awesome.
Laguna Seca would be awesome if there was a way to get a deal on a track day for fun runs.

the place is designed for lots of car traffic and has regular high attendance events so its able to handle the Mt Hammy crowd. also it doesnt get as hot as hammy
Park Presidio looks good, but not hammy good.... we need somewhere that is some what isolated, plus we dont want cop attention- that b.s. at HIN SF was like shooting fish in a barrel for the SFPD. However, Treasure Island is my vote for now, that is if it can handle us. It is just enough isolation and moderate weather. Second vote from me goes to a track.

/\ Problem with Laguna Seca is how many of the Bay area folks are going to want to do the drive down and back?
Don't think there would be as large a turn out for it because of the distance (although we made it to Hammy two years in a row so far).

I suggested Mt. Diablo or Tamalpias because they are similar to Mt. Hamilton, but The Presdio and Treasure Island are really good ideas. Its going to be hard to pick a spot more geographically centralized than Treasure Island.
I'd go with TI. Back in 2000, we had a big old school Toyota meet there and we had around 150 cars just in the one parking lot behind the bridge at the end of California Ave.:

Combine it with Subydude's Thunderhill Track day in June.

Pro: T-hill will be cheaper than Laguna Seca to rent for the day, although both venues are expensive for Saturdays and Sundays during the good weather months. Both tracks are closer to BAIC than Buttonwillow Raceway, but the turnout there was still very good when i-Club staged that event a while back.
Con: A track event will cost more than a simple BBQ meet for those who actually want to drive but that would be a separate cost from the food tickets.
I also like the Presidio or Treasure Island locations but have no idea how parking or activities would work out. Both locations are easy to get to although weekend traffic in the City and on the Bay Bridge might catch non-Bay Area residents off-guard.
Big parking lots that hold regular autocross events would also work, but many lack green areas for picnicking.
