BTW, you aren't using regular motor oil in it, are you? The lack of ZDDP these days kills flat-tappet camshafts.
No I use thick *** oil in it. I like the stock oil filter. But I have considered updating when the motor goes back in as it'll have a hotter cam in it.

Shoot I still use lead in my gas..haa.

So my friend calls the place and asked them what they used to put the damn filter on, and they say "We use a big torque wrench".

Who the hell puts their damn filter on with a friggin TORQUE WRENCH!?

Needless to say, my friend has to get his car towed back to the place (which is pretty close by), and they have to remove the filter for him with some machine... then he has to roll his car into the parking lot where he will finish his oil change!!!

See people, this is why you NEVER take your car to these oil change places! They might know what they are doing, but they just don't care! Or, they might not know what they are doing at all.

Worst oil change I have ever witnessed in my life.

When you don't do that with the style of filter we have it pretty much seazes on.

ALWAYS RUB OIL....on the damn rubber dealy bobber...damn it.

That and they probably used a socket. GUARANTEE you they didn't stick a bare arm up in there and do it.
Ahhh I never thought about that. I always rubbed oil on the rubber but never really knew why.

no crap.....or VW filters. I have to basically break my wrist to get to my wife's. Or make her do it. Easy to get to for small armed people. Which us Germans are not....

why the hell does he need to get it towed? Just fill it with oil, drive it there, then have them take if off, then refill the oil. I imagine the oil wasted being cheaper than a tow?

You should always take the filter off first for that exact reason. Same with the dif and tranny fill plugs, If you cant get the fill plug out and you already drained the old oil......yer screwed

Uh, maybe if it wasn't in our garage, we would have. The tow was free VIA AAA. If we did it your way, there would be oil all over my garage, driveway, AND street... Even if we were clean as hell about it, it'd still be messier than hell and stupid thing to do since the car has 7k miles on it.

Trust me, I thought of that option... including every other option available.

Oh, and the reason they put the filters on so damn tight is so you basically have to come back for an oil change! They used some machine to get the damn filter off... bastards.
