Question How is service at Albany Ford/Subaru????

Hi All,

I think I am having strut problems on my 05 STI; I have pink springs on my car. Anyone think Albany Subaru would give me any problems with the warranty on the strut replacement?

Any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

i went there b/c i thought i was boosting low. i told them i installed my boost guage and they tried to tell me that it voided the warranty. i reminded him that a boost guage installation is basically splicing into 1 hose and routing through a firewall and that it was not that big a deal. they went on about how they could look at it but they doubt it would be covered by the warranty.

i did go once and they replaced my wipers under warranty with little trouble, but yeah, i would call first and ask them hypothetically and see what kind of feeling you get from them.

With aftermarket springs I don't think any dealership is going to give you warranty coverage on struts, either change your springs back to stock or expect to pay.

^^i agree unless anyone can chime in that has had their struts replaced under warranty with aftermarket springs.

i have been happy with them for oil changes. my dad had his clutch replaced under warranty(not for wear) a few thousand after warranty expired on his sti.

generally speaking the warranty is void on something if you replace a part that relates to it's demise...like stiffer springs on stock struts. They're bound to go sometime.

You might get lucky because they did the work and it might just be they did something wrong...and it's a subaru part. I'd give it a shot and see what happens.

Are these the same springs featured in the lower right-hand corner of page 8 in the current SPT catalog?
