Oh lets see. I randomly dropped by my friend Sybir's place back when he was living in Santa Cruz. He was heading to this "Subaru track day thing at Laguna Seca" so I tagged along. Neither of us drove that day, but hung around talking with people all day. I had a ton of fun so I joined at some point, even though I didn't have a Subaru yet, but I knew I wanted one eventually.

That was in late 2002 IIRC, and I joined a few months later in 2003.

I joined because I also heard about the Subaru track day at Laguna Seca... although I didn't go.

Also, Subaru owners randomly coming up to me to tell me about I-club while I was at Bozz when it was still near NUMMI. And Gagan, while randomly driving by my house, saw 2 RS's sitting in the driveway so he stopped to introduce himself.

Back in 2000 the wrx was just blowing up. I always loved awd or 4x4 cars. I had a truck already. But it was getting close to 10th years old and just a month ago I had serious breakdown with the truck.

So I was in san Jose picking up the truck and I passed by Stevens creek. Subaru. Boy they were bad then already. I did hammer on a test drive drive though which worried me.

After that experience I Google subaru forums.

Biggest one was I club. Remember nabisco didn't exist back then. Plus the bay area scene was gigantic.

Learned about Albany subaru where I test drove another and the dude there was NO PRESSURE unlike Stevens creek.

Made a deal to get a red second sedan in December.

Next thing I knew there was an install meet at some guy's house named RAVENT and he was like 5 minutes from me.

So not knowing anyone yet I drove to the address and saw so many rubies so I knew I was at the right place.

As I parked and started to walk tithe house Daniel walks up to me shakes my hand and says "I'm BRUCE LEE on the the forum."

Later that afternoon someone mention this shop in fremont and I got my KB shifted and bushing installed by IMPREZER himself...

Next thing I know i-club is separated and this new thing called nabisco comes up. Had to re-register so that's why my join date is later...

Now its 2011.... happy times.

Circa 2000: Friend had a GM6 sedan, took it for a spin and really liked it. He told me to hold out for the turbo model coming out next year; only problem was the new body -- yuck! Test drove the GDA WRX first chance I had, had that much more power than the GM6 and handled quite similarly -- sucked it up despite the "hideous" look and bought me my WRX in May 2001. Met a random silver WRX wagon owner in August 2001 (back when WRX's were rare enough that when owners ran into each other, they'd stop and chat even if they didn't know each other haha) who told me about i-Club; I joined then and never saw the guy again. First meet was the Stonestown back lot meet in October 2001. I might be the only person from that meet that still actively posts on i-Club.com haha.

A relative introduced me to it. He was an early member with his bugeye and was on i club and went to the early mt hammy meets. He used to tell me all about it so I took personal interest into subaru's. Hes the reason I even know some of you guys today. I lurked the forums and committed to joining officially in 2008 when I got my first subaru, a GC6. I guess you can say i-club runs in the family.

Now Im trying to get my niece, who is close to getting her license, a subaru for her first car.

I was looking for a car at the time and I had mentioned buying a WRX to my ex. She used to have an STI so she told me to check out the cars on "i-club" because shes trusts them over craigslisters. At least she was good for something ^_^

In 1998, I bought a 1998 OBS and wondered if there were any other owners on the internet. I think I actually contacted Alan aka doorknob via email cuz he was in Daly City. At that point, I found what was impreza-rs.com at that time and lurked. I was actually kind of active on a yahoo group/mail-list for Outback Sports.

In late 2001, I went back to impreza-rs.com and it redirected me to i-club.com. I saw they were having a meet at Milpitas In-n-Out that night and decided to go, all the way from Daly City.

I joined sometime around 2005 under a different name. Around the same time I joined iwsti.com and stuck around their for awhile. Then in 2007 I rejoined I-Club again under a different name bc I had forgotten my first name and password. LoL
IWSTI.com got kinda boring with not many people posting from the bay area.

My coworker Heather bought a wrx wagon and I was thinking of buying a new car or truck. I had actually settled on an Audi A4. She was stoked on her car and kept telling me about it. Then shortly after another coworkers boyfriend came by in a sedan and took me for a spin. Until that point I always thought of subaru's as mountain cars or rally cars.

I was stoked on it. So my coworker told me to meet up with her friend Kevin. So I did. I went to my very first UCKK meet to meet Kevin (Wrexr). The rest is history.

It was a life changing moment for me. You wouldn't think a car would do that but it really did. Justin is one of the best friends I have on this planet and he and his wife are godparents to my baby girl. Bluwrxwagon.

Jeff Ipozestu is another person I met on this forum and I consider a very close and hopefully life long friend.

Cliff, Lil Jeff, Steve, etc... all guys I consider close friends.

A lot of the old school guys I really wish I could hang out with more Ave, Kevin, Mike (yeah way before GST, lol!), Paul, Alex, etc. HUGE list of old school guys.

I'd do anything for most of these guys. I really wish I lived closer to Mike and Paul because I enjoy every moment I get to spend with you guys. Constant smiles and TONS of information. And even though I don't see Kevin anymore I'd still be there if he needed it.

We're talking about people that stood with me at my wedding, my bachelor party, held me up when I was falling apart at the loss of my dog, guys I snowboard with and even work with. All guys I wouldn't have met without i-club.

Name another forum and car that can make statements like this... seriously!

I've been on forums for YEARS. I'm an O.G. honda forum guy, have thousands of posts on hot rod forums, etc... this little BAIC group we have here is pretty awesome. Even if most of you guys are *** holes.
