Sometime in 2001 to 2002, my brother and I were driving down Great Highway in San Francisco. I was kind of into cars then and saw a group of WRX's and 2.5RS having a meet at Ocean Beach. At that time, I don't think meets were a big thing and thought wow that's pretty cool, wonder what group that is. Then I googled Ocean Beach and car meet and found i-club.com through that. This was before the split, and loved the WRX ever since. I have an STi now and my brother has an 06 WRX.

In 2004 I Googled how to do the headlight mod that's so popular on Bug-Eyes, and noticed there was a Sacramento chapter here, so I joined, met some folk and stuck around.

In the winter of 07/08, My gf and I went up to tahoe 3 times. Each of those times there was a blizzard. The first time, there was mad traffic. The second time, I got a flat tire somehow. The third time, my chains snapped on the way back from kirkwood. After those monster of a headache trips, my gf said "eff this, let's get a subaru! I want to be like those guys that keep passing us"
I went to Capitol Subaru, saw a legacy GT for the first time and fell in love. I was originally shopping for a used 05 LGT, but they made me an offer on their last new spec.b that I couldn't turn down.
Then the LGT forums mentioned most of the local meets were on this site, so I joined. The first time I swapped dueces with a WRX wagon on Lawrence, my gf said "haha, that's kool, you just say hi to all the subies?". Then that winter after I put on the winter tires to drive up an ice covered hwy 88 to Kirkwood, that made me a subie fan for life. <3

In 1999 there was someone that had a RS in the apartment complex I was living at. I tried to find out who owned the car but think the person actually worked, I was still in college, so never saw the person. Decided it was the car I wanted to buy so i spent time reading stuff on edmunds about the RS and found the impreza-rs site. I lurked on the forum and read it every day. Didn't join the forum because I didn't have an Impreza. When I graduated in 2003 I got a WRX after my car died and since I had a Impreza finally thought it was ok to join i-club.

Right when I purchased my 02 WRX in 01 I started doing a little research. I literally typed "subaru impreza clubs" into Google and one of the pages that came up was I-club. Totally different layout at the time.
It's QQ thankyouverymuch

Google. Joined NAZIOC. Read about the UCKK meet. Met a crazy guy standing out in the cold wearing shorts and flip flops. He introduced himself as AR and that he posts at x002x. I mentioned that I have never seen him post on NASIOC and he just pointed at the i-club sticker on the shopping cart rack. I think that sticker is still there. UCKK was the ****.

Pretty much the same as everyone else. I was getting my first subaru. 98 RBP GM6, and I was looking for some forums to do some research. First saw RS25/apexnetwork, then I-club/nasioc, then clubwrx, then I-wsti, then Nor-calsubies, man... so many forums. hahahahaha
If in doubt, FLAT OUT

When I was looking for the current car I checked forums to see what kind of community they had, since I was big into the Honda forums when I had my other cars (a few Sis, GSR, TypeR). I was looking at a Mazdaspeed3, Mini JCW S or WRX. After driving the MS3 and finding that I didn't like the tourqesteer (nice car even stock though) and the Mini was too small, I settled on the WRX wagon. At the same time, I found that I liked the forums for Imprezas the best also, and this one in particular
There's also a great aftermarket for the WRX. So even though in stock form, the car wasn't what I wanted, I paid a lot less than a MS3 and will end up with what I feel is a better car in the long run.
