I really want the g25 wheel. Where's the best deal on one of those bad boys?

 

Haha.. Yes I am - the Desktop guys were going nuts. One guy was like "oh you didn't get the wheel, psssssh I don't even want to play with a controller" and walked off. Yeah dude, didn't want to cross the $800 line to play a video game today haha.. Besides the controllers are really nice. If I can make the triggers do the brake/throttle then even better..

Don't get me wrong I really want a wheel, but I think it costs almost as much as the console did and last time I had a wheel it was a real pain in the *** to store. Can't leave it out since that makes the wife get all uptight and the pieces are awkward to keep in a closet. Plus, I would rather use a controller than have the wheel not mounted to something. Someday.

Just like GT 1,2,3,4 before.. 1st car purchased was a Miata

The sounds are WAY better.. I use the engine sound on the Miata to tell when to upshift/downshift. The THUD when you run into something is something special.

Physics are also way improved, totally different than any GT, way more closer to a sim of you want it to be. Turning ABS off is a challenge when you panic and slam on the brakes. Tons of fun so far

Taking a break right now.
Started with a Miata too, just like I started GT4. Level 9 as of now. Finished A and B licenses. The kart challenges are fun!
So similar to GT4 so if you played GT4, you'll feel right at home.

 

Taking a quick break. Second break actually...had to fix the headlight wiring on the WRX and go do some pulls The only thing better than playing GT5 uninterrupted is having a sick ***, rippin car of your own

i started with a miata as well. but like a dumb *** sold all my winning cars from the licenses and sunday cup etc so i could by an sti and jump to rally but forgot about this hole level thing!! haha im used to gt4. im screwed. now i need to save up to by a light weight car, a freakin yaris or whatever. blast!!

so anyone find a good way to make money yet? any prize cars worth some serious dough? in gt4 i would do one of the first rally races and id always win that one car that was worth like 250k....im thinkin gt5 full proofed us from doing anything like that so easy in the beginning.

All this talk about it makes me want to play right now. I bought my copy today, but can't play till tomorrow cause I am at my parents. Also, good to know, I played GT4 A LOT, so I should fare well.

 

ive been trying to transfer over my cars from my file on psp and im having a ridiculously hard time transferring them. anyone else having this problem?

 

So here is my first day results... after about 10-12 hours of play

Cars are sick, as always. Very responsive to subtle input, and believe it or not, the 6 axis controllers do not totally suck!!

I just played some Nascar online, and I have to say the 15 minutes I spent online so far was VERY enjoyable. The VOIP is crystal clear as well, you can create servers, and they seem to be pretty lag free so far.

Speaking of Nascar, I earned quite a bit of cash doing the "special" Nascar Jeff Gordon school. It is actually pretty fun and challenging, but then I have a circle track background

not sure how playing on the controller is going to work now since you need to use so many buttons. the physics is awesome.
