and why can i participate in the gran turismo all stars event at level 14 (against all LM race cars) but cant buy a race car until level 23 ... WTF

I fraking hate this game. It is incredibly frustrating. The AI. The lack of brake upgrades. A damage model that requires level 40? WTF? The fact that there's only really 200+ cars to enjoy, the Standard cars are dead to me. The UI is frustrating as all hell. The menus take forever to load. the list goes on and on, so many broken elements.
It is obvious that Sony pushed them to release this early and broken.
Yet, I can't wait to get home and play it more.

Very obvious Sony put their foot down on this.. hopefully GT5 v2.0 will be a better product after all the patching.
All that being said.. nothing is really stopping me from completely enjoying it

You whiny kids need to "sack up or pack up."
They already made public their plans to patch this game for a long time to come. I find it incredible that some of you pick out a couple small flaws with such a fun game and ride them to death.

Load times, "vague" feel in the rally section are my only complaints right now. Don't mind the damage now or later,doesn't matter to me.
Give it time,fellas. Like Kaz said, lots of updates and patches to follow.

glad i'm not the only one that wants to dial out the force feedback. i want 0, but the minimum is 1.
valid points. i don't have a problem with the damage kicking in after a certain level. in a way it makes sense since you should be a much better driver at later levels. the load times are a bit annoying.

I am scared about damage. If it is bad enough it will end your race. 24 hour enduro races also coming up in level 20-25
