The CA bill, SB 997 was Amended in 2007....PRE Obama. Don't blame the current Administration, or the Federal Congressional body on this one.

Arnold & the NRA/State gun lobby will flex the veto muscle on this one.

If you have a problem with how things work in California; you could move to Ruby Ridge in Idaho and go sick on your guns. OR be a decent enough American to vote for the people that represent your interests. Since this bill hasn't passed, spend less time griping the teh interwebs, and get on the phone to your Congressman/woman and let -them-know-what-you-think.

Do you want more AK47 toting knuckleheads in tha hood killing cops, or do you want the opportunity to avoid what just happened in Oakland?

This State Senate Bill is one participle of a PROPOSED gun buyback program ( http://info.sen.ca.gov/pub/07-08/bil..._sen_comm.html )

Though i agree with most of what you said, most guns used in crimes are bought on the "black market".

Original questions remain...
You have to think of the history, we switch currencies after the currency ends up with huge inflation and can't compete in the global market. Hyperinflation depression/recession always comes after the government tries to keep throwing money to stimulate the economy. It happened in the late 1800's, 1950's, it's about time it'll happen again.

And Global Warming is fake, just another fear tool people use. There are upswings and downswings of 5-10 years each. Always has existed, and i think it's turning toward the downward slope pretty soon.

**** laws that do nothing to deter actual crime but restrict law abiding citizens. When will these jerk off realize that criminals are just that, people who commit crimes with no regard to the law.

Not sure why anyone is worrying about this. This was introduced years ago and hasn't gone anywhere. Probably won't go anywhere in the future either.

I could've sworn that the 2nd amendment pertains to keeping a militia (military) stocked with firearms, and does not include citizens. The states are allowed to create and change laws not covered by this bill of rights- namely possession by citizens?

who do you think WAS the militia back in 1776?

for the record, if you think national guard is the militia the forefathers thought about... it was only in the 1940's when the national guard was officially created.

the sole reason of a politician is to keep him or herself in office.

secondary reasons are to help the citizens.

and how does a politician keep getting voted in? by FUD...

if you think about term limits... say 2 terms per politicians, you would see actual laws that help you and me...

there are laws already in the books that would have prevented the death of the 4 OPD cops...

let's take a look at this "good person's" history:

1. he had a loaded firearm in his vehicle. there are laws about that... lemme guess... he doesnt have a license to carry a LOADED concealed firearm...

2. an AK-47... i'm also pretty sure that this "human" also broke the law about possessing an unregistered ASSault weapon in kalif. i'm sure that he didnt neuter his AK to comply with AB23 rules, like mine is...

3. my fav: oh btw, he is an ex felon. there are laws in the books that prevent ex felons from even TOUCHING a firearm.

so... do you think even one more law in the books would really have stopped this "non monster" (as his family said...)?????

Dude.... I need to take you down to north phx to the shooting range out there. On any given day. You will see about anything being fired. There was a cannon being fired there last time. I have seen many other "hunting / super scoped hunting" rifes and a tank being fired out there.

Oh you should be cycling thru your stock pile. I would think after a few years it becomes more unstable.

I also hope never to be the fire man running into your house.

I have alot of respect for you and your posts.. But bad guys and girls dont go to a gun store to by a gun to commit a crime. So I think less banning and stiffer punishment for people using these weapons is the better way out.

I would be all for a slightly higher gun tax to pay for new jails to hold only the ****heads that uses these guns to commit crime, then banning every gun under the sun.

Its funny we have the termiator for gov, And yet we keep getting our stuff banned.

Too bad it is hard to stop people from doing this, if a law like this does get close to passing all you have to do is store like 100 lbs of powder per caliber you reload Like this simple setup, it is so easy even a caveman can do it.
