hold on...

barrett started out as a maker of a 50 bmg rifle (note singular. they have since expanded their line). period. nothing else.

now, you use a 50 bmg to reach out and touch someone/something from 800+ meters out.

a 22LR can shoot sub moa at what... 50 yards? 100?

308's effective range. and i mean USABLE range. 800 meters?

would you care about sub moa then?

1000 yard shooting matches uses a target who's 10 ring is 4 feet in diameter... IIRC.

sub moa is good for magazine articles... in the real world, all that matters is the CORRECT target is hit and eliminated.

The SASR was never designed to be a sub MOA capable platform. The M40A3 fills that role.

I know someone who got a kill in Iraq at 1400M with the Barrett. So if you're saying the SASR isn't accurate, maybe it's the shooter and not the rifle.

ahhh... that's the acronym i was looking for...

marines renamed the barrett m82 as the "special applications scoped rifle". gotta love them...

while the us army calls it the m107. iirc.

personally, i've only gone out to about 100 yards with my serbu bfg-50 and using CRAPPY reload ammo, the first 10 were all over the place.

now that i can afford more ammo (or match ammo), we'll see... lol...

here's a stupid question, but does ammo ever "expire"? Like for example, if u had a 9mm bullet and kept it for like 15 years, is it still safe to shoot it in a handgun?

Unless he's a Special Forces or even a Ranger, who cares. His opinion doesn't matter.
