Well good luck and if I were you I would jump on it and tell them to order parts now. I took my car in a mounth ago and they just started it this week it should be done tomarrow. The owner over there said it b!tch try to get the parts from subaru. GOOD LUCK!!!!

Just bring it to a repair shop. Preferrably a pro shop or service first collision center. You'll need a quarter panel, some floor work, some inner quarter repair, etc. The damage is costly but not that bad. Pretty simple to repair. I could have it fixed in about a week and a half once I got the parts. I manage a collision center in New Orleans, LA. Don't bring your car to a hole in the wall repair facility. You don't necessarily have to bring it to a Subaru dealer either. Just remember, human beings are repairing your car not robots, so don't expect perfection. If you have any questions just hesitate to write back.

Going to go to an adjuster that the agent gave me on Tuesday. Then, I'm going to do some math and calculate if it's worth paying it myself or paying the $1000 and taking the higher insurance rates.

that is just plain stupid...
you should only talk to your own insurance company, let them deal with the other insurance co, this is part of what you pay for...
and what are you talking about $1000? do you mean that is your deductible?

damn dude. That's cheap. Is this from pictures or from an adjuster? Make sure you get an independent quote from a trusted body shop. Like TGIF in fremont or Creative Kustoms. Someplace you know does quality work and will give you OEM parts not OEM "quality" parts...knock offs.
I got quotes on my truck back in the day as low as $2200. When an adjuster finally came and looked at it and gave me a real quote and a good body shop saw the whole damage. Final cost was almost $7k. They totalled my truck.
I really hope it is that cheap..if it is and you can afford it...definately do it yourself. Will save you money in the long run. Your rates will thank you.
Good luck.
(I was way off..I thought $6k minimum)
