Nah, ESP is okay. Last year they changed the street prepared rules to allow for unlimited boost as long as everything else is kept stock. But yeah, 05 and earlier, if you had a custom tune that changed the boost settings (which nearly every one did), then technically SM was the class to run in.

I ran my '96 M in ES for a while with a Racing Beat front bar, AGXs and Falken RT615s on stock wheels. Makes a great car actually, I enjoyed autocrossing it.
