But, wait! Isn't autocross supposed to be about *you* improving *your* driving? Or is it actually a trophy mongering excerise after all?

If it's door #1, then who cares what anyone else ran?

Yeah those awesome trophies are what its all about- who cares how well you can drive? as long as you're winning hardware its all good!

So just sign up for the class with the fewest entrants.....

That's exactly what matters, don't get me wrong. If you in the proper class, the times should be fairly close, and that competition SHOULD motivate one to do better.

But honestly it doesn't matter, improving driving skill is MOST important. Just because i'm getting 4th places doesn't mean i'm going to quit and go home. I'm going to give it all I have in an attempt to learn and become faster. If i do, how I place should improve as a by-product.

Soper- Joining a class that does not have competitors to score a trophy easily is seriously looked down upon.

All I have is Eibach pro-kit for an Sti, Whiteline 3-way sway in the rear, stock struts. And a stock motor.
I'm just about totally outclassed in STX nowadays but I'm there to improve my driving and more seat-time. If I'm in the hunt for a trophy, so be it. If not, so be it too. It's all good, it's all fun, IMO.

+1 I got to drive my friend's STi a few times before he traded it in for a forester XT Sport. It makes me want a 2.5L w/ AVCS soooooo bad.
I want all the seat time I can get as well. I just need to find the time to make it around with other clubs.
