The "doctor's notes" will only get you so far, and will probably not hold up in court. If you actually read the vehicle code, any material placed on the window must be removed at night.

VC 26708 $178 Unlawful material on vehicle windows.

VC 5200 $178 Proper display of license plates. Note: The fine may be
reduced with valid proof of correction.

Last I checked (last year when I had a 2 tint tickets) the fine for correction is $25 each. Been there done that...just take that **** off. It is something they look for, and they WILL use it as an excuse to fine you and fish for other violations.

Got a fix it ticket for having tinted plate covers by the CHP the day after the 4th of July (2010), going home from my in-laws after our camping trip. I was traveling northbound on I-880 in Oakland just before Jack London Square. corrected the violation, got the ticket signed off by the CHP, contested in court, shelled out $25 for the total fee.

only doctors note that possibly may help is if you have skin cancer. otherwise the cop just has to not know anything and youll get away with the note.

To be honest though I will never take my tints off. 3 years and ive been pulled over for tint just for tint, twice. once cause i didnt realize i was driving next to a chp and once cause i had a bov and thats not on there anymore.

I keep seeing more and more of these plate covers. What's the point of having those?

I believe one might be for deflections on camera flashes and the second to prevent your registration sticker from being stolen?
