fix it for tint and plate covers
fix it for tint and plate covers
How do I tell how much this will cost me? Ticket was givin by highway patrol on a standard ticket form (I got the yellow copy)
I have been pulled by them before and ticketed and once I got a fine of like $185 for tint and once it was just a fix it so it was free.....

If you know a cop or LEO that'll be nice enough to sign off on the ticket without the mods being un-done, that's a win. I got a front window tint ticket once, had the tint removed, went to a local PD station to get it signed off. Brought the copy of the tint removal receipt from the shop, the desk officer asked 'do I have to go look, did you really take the tints off?' I said "Your call, I can't tell you how to do your job anymore than you can tell me how to do mine". She signed off on the ticket right there, no inspection. So I felt like I wasted the $$ I spent on the tint removal.
If not, then removing front tint is doable yourself, 5min per window quick N dirty, and so is the license plate covers.
If you rectify them and get them signed off before you get anything in the mail, then you should only be paying the 'processing fee' of $20 ea (estimated).
Just DIYremoval and then re-tint, that's gonna be less than the $185 you got last time.

Ticket prices have gone up, so if you are getting pulled over, it is too dark and you will probably want to do something about it because it will just keep happening. Even Fix-it tickets are now $10 ea. once it is signed off.

Not like it is new either, the law has been in effect for a long time. NO tint is allowed on the driver/passenger windows, PERIOD.
Having said that, I have 50% tint on mine which is pretty light so cops don't seem to care, but regardless of whether they say anything or not, it isn't legal.

Ya I have 5% on the rear 3 and 35% on the front. You can hardly tell its there compared to the rear windows but the state seems to have the cops out collecting more money lately.
