The Japanese are crazy, anything American-ish (or even remotely American) gets weird attention.

I can already see it happening to the female teenagers and early 20's set, versus the still-rail-thin 25+ females. DAMMIT.

 

Sucks, you'd think people would pick and choose which parts of foreign cultures they want to partake in more carefully. It doesn't take much to realize America is a country of fat slobs because we basically eat garbage and sit on our asses all day.

A lot of Japanese girls actually have a real sweet tooth and tend to like dairy products and Western food as well, probably because such items are traditionally considered "luxurious" in Japan. While in Japan, they can usually keep their fattiness in check due to: 1.) High(er) prices for said Western evil fatty foods as they are not Japanese staples or are imported, 2.)The fact that they are on their feet a lot as they have to walk/take public transit everywhere, and 3.) Social pressure to remain thin. However, the younger ones are getting fatter because they're spending more of their earnings on stuffing their faces, finding ways to avoid hoofing all over the place (it's worse out in the 'burbs and the sticks because people tend to drive everywhere like us lardo Americans), and just generally not giving a rat's *** about societal expectations (sound familiar? LOL).

And God save the young Japanese girls who come to American as exchange students or whatnot -- with fatty Western food as cheap as it is and the fact that they don't need to answer to anybody, boom goes the dynamite (otherwise known as their thighs)!!! The older ones had a later start stuffing their faces full of fatty Western food, so they've had a better start in terms of physique and are better at controlling their diets, but the younger ones started stuffing their faces at an earlier age and so tend to not only have had a worse start, they tend to have less self-control too.

The average sumo wrestler has about 20% body fat. Not to mention that that not all Japanese people are sumo wrestlers... or ninjas... or samurai... or sex kitten schoolgirls...
